• Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park - The tour begins with a ride in a private vehicle, leaving the city behind as you head to the Snow Monkey Park in the onsen town of Yudanaka, nestled at the base of the mountains. Your guide will lead you along a forest trail to the park, entering Jigokudani, which translates to ‘Hell’s Valley’. This park is home to the world’s only troop of monkeys known to bathe in hot springs. With no barriers between you and the wild monkeys, this offers a truly unique and unforgettable experience.

Your guide will introduce these fascinating creatures and allow you time to enjoy observing them up close. Don’t forget to bring your camera for this memorable experience!

• Hotarutei - Afterward, your guide will accompany you back along the trail to Hotarutei for a well-deserved lunch, where you will enjoy “nabe,” or “hot pot” in Japanese. Nabe is a traditional winter dish in Japan, perfect for warming up on a chilly day. You can choose from beef, seafood, or vegetarian nabe to suit your taste. The meal also includes assorted tempura, miso soup, sushi, and tea/coffee. This beautifully prepared, hearty lunch is crafted to match the season and showcase the best of Nagano’s famous food culture.
• Obuse-machi - Satisfied and content, you’ll leave Yudanaka to explore the charming town of Obuse, with its remaining Edo-style buildings. Known for its historical charm, chestnut treats, and sake breweries, strolling through Obuse offers a wonderful chance to sample local specialties and appreciate the culture of Nagano and Japan as a whole in this journey through time.
  After exploring Obuse, you’ll board the private vehicle again, heading to Nagano City.
• Zenko-ji Temple - Zenko-ji Temple, a registered National Treasure, is the most significant cultural site in Nagano and one of the oldest and most important Buddhist temples in Japan! Rich in history, legends, and myths, you’ll be guided around the temple before having the opportunity to explore the surrounding area of smaller temples, shops, and food on your own.

As Japan’s second-largest producer of sake, Nagano is synonymous with this famous beverage, and no visit is complete without exploring it. Your guide will lead your group to a local sake producer, explaining how to distinguish different brews as you sample a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The insights provided by your guide will enhance your appreciation of sake even after the tour ends.

Starting from Nagano City or any of Nagano’s five main ski resorts (Hakuba, Shiga Kogen, Nozawa Onsen, Myoko Kogen, Madarao Kogen), we will pick your group up in our private vehicle for a personalized tour and return you to the pick-up location or Nagano City. On this tour, you’ll visit the renowned Jigokudani Monkey Park to learn about the unique resident monkeys, enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant, and experience Nagano’s famous food culture. Guests will also have the opportunity to wander the charming streets of the historic town of Obuse, admire its remaining Edo period buildings, and explore Zenko-ji, one of Japan’s oldest and most significant Buddhist temples, which houses the first known Buddhist statue brought to Japan. A sake tasting experience with detailed explanations from your guide is also included (non-alcoholic options available).
