Shanghai Food Tour with a local - Walking through the little alleys of Shanghai's French Concession our guide Jiachen explained the history of Shanghai and how it's food is a melting pot of all cultures as we visited 4 small local family run restaurants each specializing in Shanghai's soup dumplings at one, fried dumplings, biang noodles at the second, various vegetable dishes and special pork belly at the third. We finished with a dessert at the last. We then walked along the main shopping strip to a trendy bar to sample the local beers and ciders. Would highly recommend this tour

Fantastic Experience - Unbelievable experience. Combination of history, exercise and food resulted in a really unique adventure through the French Concession.
Tour guide Angela was unbelievably knowledgable and friendly, going above and beyond to make sure our tour was memorable, as well giving us recommendations for where to head after the tour finished.
10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting Shanghai that wants to explore whilst eating some incredible food!

Awesome, accommodating your! - I took the tour with EMMA and she was fantastic!
I took a similar “free” tour a few days earlier and this one with EMMA was 100x better and totally worthy the money.
It’s a good amount of food so come hungry.
Emma accommodated some vegan people on the tour which was nice. Not too many people on the tour.

A fantastic evening for food lovers and discoverers. - This was my second foot tour with Lost Plate and my first one in Shanghai. The locations were off the usual tourist track with a local vibe and the food was excellent. Our tour guide had organised some great visuals guides and history tips of the food and locations which made the whole experience even better. The mango dessert was a great ending to a great evening 🫶🏻✨

Brilliant and delicious evening! - Had a wonderful evening on this food tour!! Emma was a brilliant guide - so communicative beforehand, and she gave us so much information about the food and traditions on the evening that I would have had no idea about otherwise. We tried SO many different dishes (all of which were incredible!) at five local restaurants and cafes. All drinks included too. Really recommend the tour!

Brilliant and delicious evening! - I had wonderful evening on this tour! Emma was very communicative beforehand, and a brilliant guide on the night. She gave us so much interesting information about the food, and explained so many details and traditions I had no idea about. We tried SO many different dishes and everything was delicious. All drinks were also included. As a solo traveler, it was difficult to try different things when I was on my own, and this tour was definitely the food highlight of my trip to China. Thank you Emma!
