- The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses - An English-speaking guide will meet you in your hotel lobby at 8:30 AM to begin the day with a visit to the Terracotta Warriors & Horses Museum.
During the tour, the guide will accompany you, sharing insights into the history and significance of this premier attraction in Xi’an. Here, hundreds of intricately detailed life-size sculptures depict the Qin army, which conquered all other kingdoms during the “Warring States” Period, leading to the unification of China. The Terracotta Warriors & Horses Museum is one of the most important archaeological finds of the twentieth century, featuring three vast pits filled with terracotta soldiers arranged in battle formation.
You will have ample time to explore the museum in the morning before taking a lunch break. There are many local restaurants nearby where you can savor authentic Xi’an cuisine. Your knowledgeable local guide will be delighted to offer recommendations.
- Han Yang Ling Museum - Later, visit the Underground Exhibition Hall of the Hanyangling Museum, where smaller figurines illustrate the imperial and everyday life of the Han Dynasty.
The museum’s unique feature is its underground exhibition hall, where you can observe through a glass floor as museum staff work on restoring the imperial tomb. In contrast to the grand and imposing Qin terracotta army, the Han warriors appear gentle and serene, reflecting the peaceful social climate during the reigns of King Wen and King Jing of the Han Dynasty.
After the visit to the Hanyangling Museum, your guide and driver will return you to your hotel, concluding the tour.
