- The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses - Time: 9:00-12:00
Begin your journey at the Terracotta Army site. Follow the guide to uncover the incredible terracotta warriors, buried for over 2,000 years, and learn fascinating tales about China’s first emperor, Emperor Qin Shi Huang (259–210 BC).
The museum features three pits. The suggested visiting order is Pit 1 – Pit 2 – Pit 3 – Bronze Chariot Pit – the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang, allowing you to follow historical clues from general to detailed insights.
Pit 1 is the largest, estimated to contain around 6,000 figures and a significant amount of bronze weaponry. The vast array of figures will astonish you, creating the sensation of being transported back to the Qin Dynasty when the soldiers were poised for battle.
Pit 2, though smaller than Pit 1, contains approximately 1,300 figures of terracotta warriors and horses. Its diverse collection makes it highly regarded among the three pits.
Pit 3 is the smallest, with only 72 terracotta warriors and horses. It is believed to have served as the army’s headquarters, directing the warriors in Pits 1 and 2.
The Bronze Chariot Pit showcases two large-scale painted bronze chariots. As burial objects, these chariots symbolize Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s vehicles. Known as “the King of Bronze Ware,” they are the earliest, largest, and best-preserved bronze artifacts globally.
- Xi’an City Wall (Chengqiang) - Time: 14:30-16:30
The Xi’an Ancient City Wall, constructed during the Ming Dynasty (1370–1378 AD), is the largest and best-preserved ancient city wall in China. Shaped like a rectangle, it spans 13.74 kilometers. The downtown area of Xi’an City is enclosed within this ancient wall, featuring four main gates (north, east, south, and west). Your visit will commence at the East Gate (Chang Le Gate).
Visitors have three options for exploring the city wall. Walking part of the wall is an option (it’s recommended to walk from East Gate to South Gate, approximately 3.5 kilometers).
Cycling along the city wall is another option (the guide will assist in renting a bike at your own expense). It’s suggested to cycle from East Gate – North Gate – West Gate – South Gate, covering about 10 kilometers, and meet the guide and other tour members at South Gate around 4:30 pm).
- Muslim Quarter - Time: 17:00-17:30
The Muslim Quarter is located 100 meters west of the Bell Tower in downtown Xi’an. The 500-meter-long avenue, paved with bluestones, is lined with unique stalls, souvenir shops, cafés, and bars, predominantly operated by Muslim people.
