Xiamen - In the morning, the tour guide and driver will collect guests from their hotel around 08:00. The journey to Yongding County will take approximately 3 hours to explore the famous Hongkeng Hakka Tulou Cluster, a recognized World Cultural Heritage Site.

Yongding Earth Building - During the drive, the guide will provide an overview of Hongkeng, a historic village in the Yongding District of Fujian. This peaceful village is home to over 30 Tulous, traditional Hakka earthen structures, mostly built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 - 1911). This Xiamen day tour to Yongding Tulou offers a unique opportunity to witness these rare cultural heritage sites.

Upon arrival, visitors will be guided to the Zhencheng Building, also known as the “Eight Diagrams Building,” renowned for its impressive exterior and intricate interior design. Next, the tour will visit the palace-like Kuiju Building, noted for its unique quadrate architecture. The guide will then lead the group to the Rusheng Building, a small, compact round tower. The final stop on this Xiamen Tulou tour will be the Fuyu Building.

Xiamen - After lunch, guests will be escorted back to their hotel in Xiamen.

Xiamen - In the morning, the tour guide and driver will pick up guests from their hotel around 09:00. They will be transferred to a ferry for a 10-minute boat ride to Gulangyu Island to begin this private Xiamen day tour.

Gulangyu Island - The first destination is Shuzhuang Garden, located in the island’s southern part. The garden features a clever design that incorporates the natural landscape, divided into two sections: the Garden of Hiding the Sea (Canghaiyuan) and the Garden of Making-Up Hills (Bushanyuan). Visitors will then be guided to the Piano Museum, which showcases a vast collection of historic and modern pianos from Hu Youyi’s collection. Gulangyu Island is a popular tourist destination due to its pleasant climate and stunning views. From afar, it resembles a charming garden floating on the sea. As visitors leisurely explore the island, they will be captivated by the blend of Chinese and foreign architectural styles, vibrant flowers, lush trees, and the captivating coastline. Once a private garden, Shuzhuang Garden on the island boasts many beautiful structures, including pavilions and houses. The Piano Museum within Shuzhuang Garden offers visitors a glimpse into the history of this musical instrument.

Nanputuo Temple - After lunch, the Xiamen day trip will continue to the South Putuo Temple, a renowned temple in China and home to the Buddhist College of Minnan. The South Putuo Temple is an ancient Buddhist temple originally constructed during the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907). It features a large and impressive scale, primarily consisting of four buildings: Devajara Hall, Mahavira Hall, Dabei Hall, and the scripture library. Those interested in Buddhist culture will appreciate the sacred Buddhist statues and treasures within the temple.

Huli Mountain Fort - Following this, the guide will accompany visitors to the Hulishan Battery Scenic Spot, a military outpost built during the late Qing dynasty. Today, it showcases cannonry from the Qing dynasties. If time allows, guests can stroll along the Island Ring Road to enjoy the breathtaking seascape and man-made scenery.

Xiamen - At the conclusion, guests will be escorted back to their hotel in Xiamen or to the Xiamen airport/train station. This marks the end of the 2-day tour services.

Xiamen - Guilin by flight. O/N Guilin.

Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport - In the morning, the guide and driver will meet guests at 6:00 am and drive them to Xiamen Gaoqi airport. Guests may take the MF8635 flight from 08:05 to 09:50, which lasts around 2 hours.

Guilin Liangjiang International Airport - Upon arrival in Guilin, guests will be promptly picked up and transferred to the Longji Rice Terraces, a 2-hour drive covering 100 km.

Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces - After a two-hour drive, guests will reach the entrance to the Longji Terraces, where they will purchase entrance tickets for the rice terraces in Ping’an Village. This village is renowned for its stunning rice terraces in Longji and requires an additional 30-minute drive from the ticket office.

Ping’an Village - Upon arrival, guests will embark on a moderate trek along steps to Ping’an Zhuang Village. The walk takes about 40 minutes. The guide will lead a stroll around the village, offering a glimpse of the local Zhuang people’s unique wooden stilted houses, and lunch will be enjoyed in the village.

After a brief lunch break, the terrace exploration continues to the No.2 Viewing Platform (Seven Star with the Moon), a 15-minute walk, offering a fantastic bird’s-eye view of the Longji Terraces below. There will be ample time to take photos and enjoy the fresh air at the platform. The tour will then proceed to the No.1 Viewing Platform (Nine Dragons and Five Tigers), a 30-minute walk along a flat path.

Reed Flute Cave (Ludi Yan) - Afterwards, guests will take a private car to Guilin city center to visit the Reed Flute Cave. Inside the underground karst cave, visitors will marvel at the stunning formations of stalagmites and stalactites.

The Reed Flute Cave is a famous karst cave with numerous stalagmites and stalactites shaped like bamboo shoots, pillars, curtains, and flowers, transforming it into a magnificent underground palace. Inside the cave, visitors can discover more astonishing sights, such as stone lions, miniature forests, pagodas, and crystal chambers, each with a romantic or intriguing story. The guide’s vivid interpretation, combined with the lighting, adds mystery to the scene. A trip to the cave lasts about 40 minutes.

Guilin - At the end, the guide will escort guests to their hotel.

Guilin - Yangshuo. O/N Yangshuo.

Guilin - In the morning, the guide and driver will pick up guests from the hotel around 07:45 and escort them to the Zhujiang pier to begin the Guilin Li River cruise to Yangshuo (4-star boat with buffet lunch).

Li River - Boarding is scheduled for 9:20 am, and the entire journey takes about 4 hours. With the guide’s company and interpretation, guests can immerse themselves in the breathtaking karst landscape, featuring rolling hills, lush forests, unique caves, and tranquil villages along the Li River. A buffet Chinese lunch will be served on board before reaching Yangshuo at 2:00 pm.

Xianggong Mountain - After disembarkation, guests will be driven to see Yangshuo Xianggong Hill. A 15-minute climb along a moderately sloped staircase leads to the top of Xianggong Hill. Guests should inform the guide in advance if a walking stick is needed. Situated between the famous Yellow Cloth Shoal and Mural Hill, Xianggong Hill is one of the best viewing platforms in Guilin to admire the beauty of the Li River. The stunning view of the meandering Li River making a 180-degree bend attracts countless visitors and photographers each year.

Yangshuo County - At the end, the guide will escort guests to their Yangshuo hotel, where they will have free time. There is an option to attend a night show in Yangshuo, “Impression Sanjie Liu,” performed above and on the Li River against verdant hills. The dreamlike stage effects and original singing and dancing of national minorities have earned the performance a stellar reputation among visitors. The show begins at 20:00 and lasts for 70 minutes; ticket prices range from CNY 268 to CNY 368, depending on the seats. If interested, the guide will reserve tickets and escort guests to the site after dinner.

Yangshuo. The tour ends.

Yangshuo County - In the morning, the guide and driver will pick up guests from the hotel around 09:00 and escort them to the Yulong River to start the Yangshuo Yulong bamboo boat tour.

Yulong River - A bamboo raft ride on the Yulong River (or Dragon River), a tributary of the Li River, offers a relaxing way to enjoy the scenic area south of Yangshuo. Guests can appreciate the stunning scenery and views of rural life on a non-motorized raft, steered by a gondolier over breakwaters past small mud-brick villages and farmlands. Once on the bamboo raft, sitting and enjoying the peaceful countryside and limestone mountains, the beauty of the experience unfolds. Even if guests have cycled the area with hidden stretches approaching the river, the view from the river is distinct. The boat ride lasts for 50 minutes, one way.

Fuli Ancient Town - Next, guests will travel by car to Yangshuo Fuli Town, a 20-minute journey. In this town, guests will experience the life of local farmers. The guide will first escort them to a local market, then head to the old streets to see fans, paintings, and water buffalo near the river (end of the street).

Xingping Town - Once a sleepy riverside village, Xingping has grown into Xingping Town, with an old center that can be explored in about an hour. Xingping has a rich history, with many buildings dating back to the Qing and Ming dynasties. On local market days, the town becomes lively and bustling with locals from surrounding villages buying and selling their produce. Restaurants and coffee shops offer the local specialty, beer fish, and local handicrafts, including affordable handmade jewelry. The scenery around Xingping is magnificent, and visitors can see the landscape immortalized on the national 20 RMB note.

Yangshuo County - At the end, the guide will escort guests to their hotel or Guilin airport/train station, marking the end of the 5-day tour services.
