The first destination is Neidong National Forest Recreation Area, previously known as “Wawagu” due to the calls of tree frogs. This area boasts stunning mountainous landscapes and canyons linked to Wulai. The highlight here is Xinxian Waterfall, also called Neidong Waterfalls. Visitors can get up close and experience the mist from the waterfall at the viewing platforms.
- Wulai Old Street - Lunch today is self-arranged. Wulai Old Street is renowned for its indigenous delicacies and wild mountain vegetables. Have you ever tried Bird’s Nest Fern or Wild Boar Sausage? For adventurous food lovers, this is a perfect spot to expand your culinary journey in Taiwan.
In addition to the indigenous treats, there are shops offering indigenous souvenirs like handicrafts and snacks, perfect for sharing with family and friends.
The push-car in Wulai is the last of its kind in Taiwan, originally used for timber transport. Now, it is a tourist attraction in the recreation park, offering a 3 to 5-minute ride from Lansheng Bridge to Wulai Waterfall.
- Wulai Falls - Wulai Waterfall is Wulai’s most iconic landmark. Standing at about 80 meters high, it resembles a white silk cloth cascading from the sky, leaving visitors in awe.
- Bitan Scenic Area - Before concluding the tour, take a moment to relax in the serene Bitan Scenic Area, approximately a 40-minute drive from Wulai.
The lighting on Bitan Bridge beautifully illuminates the river, creating a romantic ambiance. During the day, many people enjoy riding swan boats on the river.
