Original Owners: Erected for the Bagon brothers (K.J. Bagon & S.J. Bagon), affluent Russian tea merchants during the Tsarist period.

Architecture: A remarkable example of Russian-style architecture. Its most notable feature is its distinctive triangular “sharp angle” shape, reminiscent of a ship’s bow, crafted to fit the irregular intersection.

History: Initially an upscale apartment building for foreign businessmen and senior staff of international firms, highlighting Hankou’s significance as a global trading port.

Significance: It stands as one of the largest preserved historical apartment buildings in Wuhan from that era and serves as a landmark symbolizing the multicultural history of Hankou’s concessions. Its unique shape makes it easily identifiable.
