Windhoek-Namib Desert

Windhoek - Guests will be picked up from their hotel or guest house at 9 am to embark on a journey south to the renowned Sossusvlei, traveling through the scenic Spreetshoogte Pass. A stop at the viewpoint will allow for appreciation of the endless Namib views. Lunch will be enjoyed at the Solitaire oasis. Arrival at the lodge or campsite is expected around 3-4 pm. Due to the extreme heat, it is recommended to relax by the pool. An early rest is advised as an early start is planned for the next day. Overnight at Solitaire Campsite or similar.

Dune 45, Sossusvlei - Desert Experience

Sossusvlei - The day begins early with a visit to the Sesriem Gate leading to the extraordinary Sossusvlei. The adventure starts with a climb up the picturesque Dune 45, offering a chance to experience the vast, orange-hued landscape. An off-road drive will take visitors to Dead Vlei, a vast desert pan where ancient, dried-up acacias stand in a striking open-air gallery. For those with energy, climbing one of the world’s highest dunes, ‘Big Daddy’ or ‘Big Mama,’ is an option. After the morning excursion, lunch will be at Sesriem, followed by a 1-2 hour break. Once the heat diminishes, a short trip to Sesriem Canyon will conclude the day’s activities. Overnight at Solitaire Campsite or similar.

Sossusvlei to Swakopmund

Sossusvlei - The journey continues from desert to sea, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn and traversing the Gaub. The route includes the Kuiseb passes, descending to the dry riverbed at the base of the Kuiseb Canyon before ascending the other side, revealing the stunning desert landscape. Upon reaching the coast, a stop in Walvis Bay will offer views of flamingos and other birds in the lagoons. A short lunch break will be taken. The night will be spent in Swakopmund, with dinner at the client’s own expense at a local restaurant. Overnight at Plaza Hotel or similar.

Swakopmund- Cape Cross

Swakopmund - The morning includes a visit to the seal colony at Cape Cross, north of Swakopmund, to observe thousands of fur seals up close. The remainder of the day is free for exploration. Swakopmund is a delightful seaside town with shops, a beautiful beach (though the Atlantic is cold), and an open-air curio market. Visitors can also explore the excellent museum and the Namibian National Marine Aquarium. For those seeking adventure, optional activities such as boat tours (with oysters and champagne), scenic flights, fishing, quad biking, sandboarding, and skydiving are available. The guide will assist in arranging activities and making pre-bookings. Overnight at Plaza Hotel or similar.

Swakopmund- Etosha National Park

Swakopmund - Guests will be collected from their hotel between 08:00 and 08:30 for a long drive. A stop in Usakos will be made to refuel and gather provisions. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in Outjo. Arrival in Okaukuejo is expected in the afternoon, with a drive through parts of the National Park to search for various wildlife. Accommodation will be reached just before sunset. Dinner will conclude the day’s adventure, and rest is necessary to prepare for the full-day game drive the following day. Overnight at Toshari Campsite or similar.

Etosha National Park

Etosha National Park - An early rise will be followed by breakfast and a full-day game drive in Etosha National Park. The early morning hours are ideal for exploring the waterholes. Visitors will see the Etosha pan (salt pan) before driving across the park in search of the “Big 5” and other animal species. Overnight at Toshari Campsite or similar.

Etosha to Windhoek

Windhoek - Prepare for a long, scenic journey back to Windhoek. The route passes through towns and rural areas, with a stop in Okahandja, home to Namibia’s largest wood carving market. The market operates on a local cooperative basis, offering a wide range of authentic Namibian souvenirs. Arrival in Windhoek is expected in the late afternoon or early evening.
