The tour consists of... - The tour consists of tribe people sharing their traditional skills on a guided walk with demonstrations and narrative in their local language (with interpretation from another knowledgeable guide). All the guides are friendly and seem to genuinely have fun explaining / demonstrating / acting out their arts. The main guide explained that this tour provides a way for them to make a living from their traditional skills at the same time as helping them to preserve them and educate others.

The Originals - This was a last minute decision to join a walking group, but the best decision to do so. Very informative especially the knowledge these people have regarding how to use the raw nature to their advantage, without formal education.

Learning about the traditional life of the San - We did the Bushmen Walk on a December morning during the rainy season. There are guided walks in the morning and in the afternoon. The temperatures tend to be more bearable in the morning. Also, during this time of the year there are often thunderstorms towards the evening. We were met by Erastus, the main guide who translates from the San's native language into impeccable English. He introduced us to three fellow "Bushmen" and then we were given new names according to their traditional ways which was quite funny. During the walk we learned a lot about the nutritional and medical use of all the plants in this savanna. They showed us their hunting techniques and their weaponry and we had the opportunity to ask questions about their customs and history. The walk ended in a replica of a traditional village with songs and dancing around a fire. We thought this walk to be an intriguing insight into an ancient lifestyle. It's just a 30mins drive north of Windhoek which means you can easily combine this activity with a visit to Düsternbrook or other places of interests close by. There is a small shop with crafts, beverages and well-maintained toilettes.

Bushman immersion - It was a magical immersive experience. A week before our trip we watched a documentary on the Bushmen. Never did we think we would be there in their company. It was an unforgettable experience. They spoke to our souls. Thank you for opening your home and sharing the treasures of your life with us. Thank you for the dancing and belly laughs. We cherish the memories.

Excellent opportunity! - We greatly enjoyed meeting the San people, not an easy thing to do in Namibia. We learned about how they survive and thrive with nature providing all they traditionally needed. Everything from pickup to return was smooth. It was an excellent way to capture some video and photos of the San hunting, dancing and making jewellery.

Interesting walk with the Bushman people - This experience exceeded our expectations. It helped that there were just 2 of us so my hard of hearing husband was able to understand most of the conversations. The Bushmen telling their story seemed to be enjoying themselves as well as they told their stories in their own language with the guide assisting us in the interpretation.
