Loved this experience - Wonderful, educational experience. Beautuful village. Staff was top of the line, friendly and informative as well as interactive. Highly recommend!

Best place to go and experience the colonial period! - The buildings and the grounds were very well kept and easy to get around in. The employees were very helpful and patient. We did not get to see everything because some of the buildings were not open when we were there, but the ones we got to see were very good and the costumed interpreters were very knowledgeable about the houses and buildings. A highlight for us was the parade of different Drum and Fife Corp playing and marching down the Main Street. It was so authentic and we really enjoyed it! This is a must see if you are in the area.

Very Enjoyable! - We had a wonderful time at Colonial Williamsburg. Every exhibit was a treat to the eyes and so very informative. The staff (actors) were in character constantly, so framing your questions becomes a great deal of fun. Each stage presentation (George Washington etc.) was informative, humorous and thoroughly entertaining. I am a craftsman, so I asked a lot of questions about techniques and tools of the period, so I needed 2 days to get it all in. Plan on walking a lot. My only suggestion is for them to add more places to get a meal, drink or snack. The admission fee was reasonable, be sure to ask about military/veteran / senior discounts. We went in mid-May and did not feel crowded even though many exhibits were in small buildings. Be sure to study the daily calendar for presentation times. Every presentation was terrific.

A little disappointing - First, admission was complicated. I had bought the tickets with Tripadvisor, and thought all we’d have to do is show the QR code, but it was much more complicated than that. Second, we did not think the majority of the employees in costume “acted the part”. Third, very few attractions were open the day we were there, including 2 of the 3 MAJOR ones (Governors Palace and Drum and Fife).

Williamsburg trip - Very good time and interesting.

Walked the entire community. About half of the exhibits were closed. Didn't see any reenactments - Beautiful place, but half of the experience was closed.

Limited accessibility - There wasn’t a lot open to see/do

We purchased 4 tickets... - We purchased 4 tickets using your site. We printed the voucher and it came with a bar code. When we arrived at the visitor center for Colonial Williamsburg we were told to wait in line (Which was REALLY LONG). This line was for people who needed tickets BUT we had a voucher. THIS VOUCHER ment nothing and did not save us anytime.. It was a waste of an hour of our time. Going forward there is no PLUS to have this voucher.

Not as advertised - My family and I traveled to Williamsburg after looking forward to this experience for several months. Based on the information and marketing materials presented on the Colonial Williamsburg website, we expected a more immersive and interactive historical experience, including opportunities to observe colonial reenactments, character portrayals, historical speeches, demonstrations, staged performances, and other living-history presentations throughout the Historic Area. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet those expectations. During our visit, we did not encounter any historical reenactments, speeches, demonstrations, staged performances, or other interactive living-history experiences. The Governor’s Palace and the Capitol building were the only admission-required locations we were able to access using our tickets. Beyond brief guided entry into the buildings, there were no reenactments, historical speeches, demonstrations, or other interactive experiences that justified the admission price or matched the expectations created by the Colonial Williamsburg website. The ticket description led us to expect guided sites, historic trade demonstrations, staged performances, and other living-history experiences throughout the Historic Area. During our visit, we were unable to locate or experience those advertised activities. As a result, our family felt that the admission tickets did not deliver the value we reasonably expected when purchasing them. We spent a total of $143.04, including taxes, for four adult tickets, and left feeling disappointed by the significant difference between what was presented on the website and what we actually experienced. Had we understood that the experience would primarily consist of limited access to a small number of buildings without the advertised immersive programming, we would not have purchased four admission tickets.

Colonial Williamsburg: Be Advised! - BE ADVISED: 1. They charge to park in their parking lot which is directly in front of the visitors' center. It is free for 30 minutes and then $10 whether you stay an hour or two or all day. For short visits, there seems to be a cheaper parking site on N. Henry. It connects to the main sites by the free WATA bus. 2. A "VA 250 Passport" will not get stamped at Colonial Williamsburg unless you pay for admission. If you are not familiar with Colonial Williamsburg, one can go into a few of the main sites and walk the streets without the paid admittance. The art galleries are also free. Most of the craft and artisan shops have re-enactors and those require the admittance pass to enter. We had been two other times and had done it both ways. This time we only had a couple of hours and thought we'd just walk the streets and then go to the art galleries. Which we did. They simply will not stamp your 'VA 250 Passport" unless you pay. While we could easily afford to pay the fee, we did not think was worth about $80 to get our passports stamped. Apparently, they do.
