It's worth it! - What a special museum. My wife and I walked through the museum with Yvonne (guide) and learned more about slavery and what was done to these people. We DEFINITELY recommend doing the visit with a guide! This makes the story of slavery clear(er). If you are on Curaçao, then a visit to the Kura Hullanda museum is worthwhile!

Great Layout of History and Experience - The museum was a great collection of exhibits and historical pieces that tied in well together to show the history of Curacao in a more serious light. Its layout reminded us of the roots that slavery played in impacting the culture here. However the museum also highlights the roots of these very slaves and the culture and beauty that came from the people. I personally learned a lot and I can reflect on how much we still need to learn about the positives and negatives of our history. Ivonne was a fantastic tour guide and who showed a lot of knowledge and passion for the exhibits shown. She was a definite highlight in the whole experience.

Impressive, but definitely worth it! - Yesterday I did the tour in the museum, accompanied by Dutch guide Yvonne. It was very impressive. Yvonne took us into the past and told us everything, after which we were given plenty of time to ask questions or will look around. Definitely recommended to visit, when you are on the island 🇨🇼.

Educational day at Kura Hulanda museum 👌 - After a few days at the beach we thought it was time to dive into history, and for that the Kura Hulanda Museum in Otrobanda, Willemstad is an absolute must. The museum impressively tells the story of slavery. The exhibition begins in the Middle East, takes you through the transatlantic slave trade and ends with the modern forms of slavery that unfortunately still exist today, such as human trafficking and forced marriage. The tour was very impressive and gave us a clear picture of what it was like at the time. Through the many artifacts and excavations, such as ancient pottery and glassware, you are really transported back in time. The exhibited attributes, such as slave chains and weapons, also make a deep impression. If you are interested in culture and history, a visit to this museum should not be missed during your stay in Curaçao. Oh yes there is air conditioning in the museum, very pleasant 👌

Go!!!!! - Hubby and I decided to visit this museum while in Curacao 🇨🇼 and on our wedding anniversary lol it was $24USA for 2 ppl. We walked around ourselves no guide needed. It’s something to see for all AFRICAN AMERICANS if you are here. It’s small but powerful enough.

A missed opportunity - Came here with great anticipation. First part I was, very informative, too little explanation about the objects to keep the slaves in line Second part is an exhibition of African and other exotic art Actually, a big missed opportunity to highlight current slavery. 4.5 million people still live in slavery. Even when you arrive at the airport, the posters about this are more than clear

Trip Advisor Said it is Ok to tell you that it was really bad - The business is no good and you should never go there. Trip advisor said that I can write about my experience of a business. as long as it meets the guidelines. It was awful here.
