Well Worth A Visit - A good choice for those interested in doing something educational while on Curacao. The museum is big enough to offer a good learning experience and a variety of exhibitions while not being so expansive as to feel overwhelming. The African slave trade exhibition was challenging to stomach (as it should be), but it also provided an interesting opportunity to reflect on the ethnic diversity of the island today. I visited on a Saturday in May, and there really wasn't much of a line to skip. You can probably just walk in and pay for admission if you don't want to commit ahead of time to buying a ticket for a specific date. That being said, I like to navigate museums at my own pace. If you're interested in a guided tour, I do think you have to schedule in advance.

Slavery museum - We had a good guide who knew a lot to tell. Also could answer questions. Instructive day. Recommended to learn a bit more about the slavery past.

Heartbreaking - Paid $6 for a guide. The stories told were heart breaking and I cried! All the items come from a single, Jewish, Dutch man. Some items were donated. The museum was built on land where there was no history of slavery. Some of the art pieces are thought provoking. A must see!

A Must See Attraction - Evelyn was the best for guide for perspective on this tour. Areas of museum are emotionally and intellectually impacting. It's amazing the breadth of artifacts that are housed here. A must see attraction for history buffs.

THIS REVIEW SHOULD BE A 6 - I would rate them a 6 (for those that know This is Spinal Tap, this one goes to 11). I recommend getting a guide, well worth the extra money to explain everything.

Enjoyable, but lots of walking! - There is a lot of walking. For those of us with mobility issues, it can become too much. I was able to complete most of the tour but there was a point when I knew it had been enough for me. I appreciate the patience of my tour guide and others in the group! The experience was informative and interesting. Once I'm better, I may return to complete the exhibits.
