A Morning of Anticipation and Adventure

The day began with a bit of a rush, as I found myself caught in the time warp between ship time and Curaçao time. As a seasoned traveler, I should have known better, but the excitement of the day ahead had me a bit flustered. Luckily, Patrick, our guide, was waiting patiently by gate 2, ready to whisk us away on an unforgettable journey. His calm demeanor and warm smile instantly put our group at ease, and we set off to explore the island’s hidden gems.

Our first stop was a breathtaking beach that seemed to have leapt straight out of a postcard. The water was a shade of blue so vivid it felt like a dream. As someone who has spent countless hours riding waves around the world, I can confidently say this was one of the most stunning spots I’ve ever laid eyes on. The beach even had a ledge perfect for jumping into the inviting waters below, adding a touch of thrill to the serene surroundings.

The highlight of the tour was undoubtedly the chance to swim with sea turtles. As we arrived at the beach, I noticed another group lingering close to the shore, but Patrick had other plans for us. He led us further out into the crystal-clear waters, where the turtles glided gracefully beneath the surface. It was a mesmerizing sight, and I felt a deep connection with these gentle creatures as they swam alongside us.

The tour concluded with a visit to the flamingo area at Landhuis Jan Kok, where we had the chance to snap a few photos of these vibrant birds in their natural habitat. It was the perfect end to a day filled with adventure, laughter, and awe-inspiring sights. As we made our way back to the port, Patrick airdropped over 120 photos to our phones, ensuring we had plenty of memories to look back on.
