Our guide was informed, enthusiastic, and considerate with all guests and their questions. I knew, going in, what the theme of this museum was; the history of Louisiana slavery, but did not expect it to touch me as deeply as it did. Will recommend this tour to everyone I meet.
Joyce is an absolute angel. And a shout-out to her driver Mike as well. As soon as you meet her, you feel like you've known her your whole life. Very knowledgeable about the area and full of interesting personal anecdotes. We were a group of 7 and everyone absolutely loved her. When our Air Canada flight home was cancelled last minute, I texted her and she was more than happy to come rescue us from the airplane. If you need any tour booked in New Orleans, call Joyce first!!
Joyce was our tour guide for Let's Just Ride, and she didn't leave a dull moment in our drive. She combined Louisiana history lessons with an edge of personal or second hand stories full of character. She went out of her way to ensure comfort and even drove us to a great local seafood venue. The Whitney plantation was soberly engaging with a chunk of history that should not be buried. A different guide led us through the grounds, starting with the slave perspective, and ending with the big house- super tour full of enlightening facts of the whole picture of plantation life.
Joyce Marsalis is the best, she greets her guest with a smile, she makes you feel like family. Joyce is very knowledgeable of the New Orleans area, she loves her hometown and it is eagerly reflected in her interaction with her clients. I am a Let's Just Ride customer for life. Thanks Joyce for your hospitality!
Excellent!! Had such a wonderful time with Joyce. She is the best!
Joy was helpful, knowledgeable, efficient, polite, friendly, and a whole lot of fun. She engaged the entire group on the trip to and from the museum, which got us all talking to each other. I loved her!
I heard of the W. Plantation last year and I wanted to visit it, but I came on a Wednesday and it was closed. So I came back this year. I didn't know how to get there and I was ready to Uber, but my hotel advised me better. I'm very satisfied with the service of LJR, and I enjoyed a lot the competence and conversation of Joice. I will recommend this experience to my friends.
The Whitney Plantation is loaded with history and you may even have the chance to meet the owner, Mr. Cumming,s who will tell you a wonderful Rich history of the Whitney Plantation.
