Yumen Pass - Visit Yumen Pass & the Great Wall of the Han Dynasty. Historically, the Han Dynasty constructed many walls to secure the frontier and facilitate trade with the western region. Unlike other dynasties, the Han Great Wall was built using local sand and weeds, layered together.

Mingsha Shan - Echoing-Sand Mountain - In the afternoon, visit Crescent Moon Lake & the Singing-Sand Dunes. Enjoy a camel ride on the sand dunes.

Yulin Grotto - Explore the Yulin Caves, which share origins in content, artistic style, and painting form with the Mogao Caves, earning it the title of its sister site.

Suoyangchengzhen - After lunch, visit the ruins of Suoyangcheng, a significant Silk Road stop, listed by UNESCO in 2015. Transfer to Guazhou.

Guazhou - Jiayuguan

Great Wall at Jiayuguan Pass - Travel by bus to Jiayuguan to visit the renowned Jiayuguan Pass & Museum of the Great Wall, marking the western end of the Ming Dynasty’s Great Wall. Climb the Great Wall in western China.

Jiayuguan - Zhangye

Zhangye Danxia Geopark - Discover the painting bricks in the tomb of the Wei & Jin Dynasty, known as the “Underground Art Gallery” for their vibrant colors and diverse depictions of politics, economy, military, and culture. Transfer to Zhangye to visit Zhangye Danxia, China’s unique Danxia landform with a colorful hilly landscape.

Dafo Temple of Zhangye - Visit the Giant Buddha Temple, home to Asia’s largest Nirvana Buddha. Explore the Horse Hoof Temple Grottoes, famous for the deity horse footprints.

Farewell, Zhangye

Dafo Temple of Zhangye - Visit Pingshanhu Grand Canyon in the morning. After lunch, transfer to the airport or Zhangye Railway Station for your onward journey. Assistance with booking high-speed train tickets is available.
