Arrival in Weligama

The sun was just beginning to rise as I arrived in Weligama, a charming coastal town in Sri Lanka known for its laid-back vibe and perfect surf conditions. The salty breeze and the sound of waves crashing against the shore instantly made me feel at home. As a professional surfer who’s spent years chasing waves across Central America, I was eager to see what this new destination had to offer.

I had heard about the Surf School and their unique offering of drone shots capturing surfers in action. The idea of having my surfing immortalized from above was too tempting to resist. I was ready to dive into this ultimate surfing adventure and see if Weligama could live up to its reputation.

The Surfing Experience

The Wavy Green Surf School was nestled right on the beach, surrounded by palm trees and the inviting turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. The instructors were friendly and knowledgeable, offering lessons tailored to every skill level. Though I was an experienced surfer, I appreciated their attention to detail and the way they personalized the experience for each participant.

The waves were consistent and forgiving, perfect for honing my skills and trying out new maneuvers. I spent hours riding the waves, feeling the familiar rush of adrenaline and the pure joy that only surfing can bring. The instructors were always nearby, offering tips and encouragement, making sure everyone was having a great time.

Capturing the Moment

The highlight of the weekend was undoubtedly the drone shots. As I paddled out to catch another wave, I could see the drone hovering above, capturing every twist and turn. The thought of seeing myself from such a unique perspective added an extra layer of excitement to the experience.

After the session, I was handed a collection of stunning photographs and videos, unedited and raw, just like the waves themselves. These images were more than just memories; they were a testament to the incredible time I had in Weligama. I couldn’t wait to share them with my fellow adventurers and relive the experience through their eyes.

Weligama had indeed lived up to its promise, offering not just great waves but an unforgettable surfing adventure.
