• Yarumo Blanco - After enjoying breakfast at your hotel in Pereira, you will embark on a journey of just over an hour to the quaint town of La Florida, the starting point of today’s adventure. Upon arrival, you will enjoy coffee and a snack before setting off on a walk of approximately 6 kilometers, taking about 1.5 hours along a rugged road. The journey is enriched by stunning scenery, featuring onion fields, flowers, and medicinal plants. Upon reaching the Otun Qumbaya Nature Reserve, you will leave the road and continue along a well-marked path. There will be stops along the way for your guide to share insights about the region and the forest, which is home to howler monkeys and birds. After walking for about 30 minutes, you will arrive at the breathtaking waterfall.

The initial segment of the hike spans approximately 6 kilometers (around 1.5 hours) along a charming mountain road. As participants walk, they will be enveloped by a lively rural landscape featuring onion fields, vibrant flowers, and medicinal plants—showcasing the region’s agricultural abundance.

Upon reaching the Flora and Fauna Sanctuary, the road is left behind as the journey continues on a clearly marked forest trail. With frequent pauses, the guide will provide intriguing insights into this distinctive ecosystem, which is home to playful howler monkeys, numerous bird species, and a wealth of native flora.

After roughly 30 minutes of traversing the forest, participants will reach the tour’s breathtaking highlight: a magnificent 70-meter waterfall cascading through the heart of the reserve.

Located just 18 kilometers from Pereira, the area is surrounded by dense native and reforested woodland, making it a sanctuary for wildlife and one of the premier locations in the region for observing howler monkeys.
