I left the following review on TripAdvisor documenting the issues we experienced: "This Georgetown Food Tour wasn't a complete waste, but it was certainly a disappointment. The restaurants were OK, but not worth the expense: Italian was average (it's difficult to mess up meatballs), Korean food was good but service below average (they were looking for spoons for 10 minutes), and the Mexican was nowhere close to "ultra-chic" as advertised (plus, after taking the drink order off of the happy hour menu, they tell us at pay time that happy hour was only at the bar -- and, yes, I checked, not a word about that on the menu). Speaking of drinks, this food tour advertising is very clear: "All food and drinks are included in the tour." Turns out, no drinks - alcoholic or not - are included in the tour. The only drinks included are tap water; we had to pay extra for everything else. The "sweet ending" wasn't anything to enjoy and instead of a "drink from a family run bakery specializing in sweet and savory pie," we were allowed to take two macaroons per person and, for god knows what reason, could only select from three not particularly exciting kinds when good dozen or more different ones were there in front of us, all seemingly at the same price. Finally, the guide, a seemingly friendly woman retired from some other food-related job in CA and a recent arrival in the DC area, had very little depth or breadth to contribute on either the history of Georgetown or on the foods being served. There was simply no explanation as to what guided the choices of the restaurants or the dishes being served. As to the history of Georgetown, the history of the founders of the place came with an apology that the only reason she is talking about these "white men" is because we don't know anything about any other specific individuals involved. The whole narrative was tainted in identity politics rather than presentation of facts or peculiar factoids about the place of the kind you may expect on a food tour. She seemed to detest the "very white, rich" people living in Georgetown today to the point where it wasn't clear why she was doing a food tour of the place. What saved the tour was the good company of friendly fellow travelers. Though, even there, there were 13 of us while the advertised maximum is 12."

Suzanne was such a lovely knowledgeable guide. The food was delicious and abundant. At 3.5 hours we certainly got our money’s worth - even when our Australian dollar exchange rate was at a 10-year low!

We loved this tour! The restaurant choices were great - the food was good, the environment at each was different and the staff was very kind. The walking tour itself was more than we expected, with some history mixed in along with the food. My friend and I are local and we still learned facts about Georgetown that we didn't know. Suzanne, our guide, was wonderful. She was knowledgeable about both the restaurants and the facts about Georgetown, she was fun to chat with, and she kept a quick enough pace but still allowed us time to linger where we wanted. Our group was small, only 4 of us, and the other couple was lovely so sitting at a restaurant together, with Suzanne, was a wonderful experience where we could dine and chat together. I'd recommend this tour to anyone, and we'll definitely try another one in a different part of DC next time
