• White House - The experience begins in Lafayette Square, directly across from the White House. A personal tour guide shares statistics and historical insights about the neighborhood, highlighting Saint John’s Episcopal, known as the “Church of the Presidents.” Guests have time to stroll along Pennsylvania Avenue and photograph the Executive Mansion, the West Wing Command Center, the international press cubicles, and the Old Executive Building, which houses the Vice Presidency. The tour does not enter the White House.
• Washington Monument - The tour drives around the George Washington Monument, honoring the Founding Father and first President of the United States. The impressive obelisk is visible from all directions throughout the tour.
• The Pentagon - The United States Department of Defense, known as The Pentagon.
• Arlington National Cemetery - The nation’s most significant military cemetery, where guests visit the final resting place of the iconic presidential couple John and Jacqueline Kennedy. This stop lasts one hour, followed by a 20-minute drive to the next destination, the Lincoln Memorial.
• U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial - This famous bronze sculpture depicts six Marines raising the flag atop Mount Suribachi during the 1945 Battle of Iwo Jima. Although the scene portrays one of World War II’s most renowned engagements, the memorial honors all Marines who have served in defense of the United States since 1775.
• Lincoln Memorial - This neoclassical temple, designed by American Beaux-Arts architect Henry Bacon with statuary by Daniel Chester French, pays tribute to the 16th President of the United States.
• Vietnam Veterans Memorial - The Vietnam War Veterans Memorial honors all members of the U.S. armed forces who served from 1955 to 1975 in Laos, Cambodia, and Saigon.
• Korean War Veterans Memorial - Located just south of the reflecting pool on the National Mall, this memorial depicts a 1955 war scene with 19 stainless steel soldiers walking along the 38th parallel north, the border between North and South Korea.
• Jefferson Memorial - This memorial honors Thomas Jefferson, the principal author of the United States Declaration of Independence and the nation’s third president.
• U.S. Capitol - At the intersection of First Street and Maryland Avenue (James Garfield Circle), guests disembark and walk along the west side of the Capitol facade, where elected presidents take the oath of constitutional allegiance every four years. Standing before the Capitol inspires a remarkable sense of grandeur, complemented by the panoramic view of the Washington Obelisk in the distance and the National Mall surrounded by the Smithsonian Institution Museums. The tour does not enter the Capitol.
• L’Enfant Plaza - Guests reboard and conclude the tour where it began at L’Enfant Plaza. For convenience, a large and modern gallery offers a food court, restaurant patio, and a variety of shops. Beyond its important METRO station, the modern L’Enfant Plaza sits just seven minutes from the Smithsonian Institution’s free museums, allowing guests to walk to the National Gallery of Classical Art, the Air and Space Museum, or any of the many museums located only 50 meters apart.
