• Georgetown - Historic Georgetown, initially a separate port city from Washington, D.C., was established in 1751 and became an incorporated city with an elected government in 1789. Architecturally, visitors can admire Gothic, Federal style, Greek Revival, and numerous Victorian and Queen Anne styles, along with classic brick and frame row houses. • St. John’s Church - The original plans for St. John’s Church date back to the mid-1700s, with completion in 1804. It was constructed by William Thornton, the architect of the Capitol. After experiencing growth and financial difficulties, St. John’s closed in 1831 and was sold and rented as a studio to German sculptor Ferdinand Pettrich. In 1838, parishioners raised funds to repurchase the church and restore it to sacred use. It has remained a church ever since.

• Georgetown University - Georgetown University is a private Jesuit research university located in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The main building showcases the Northern European Romanesque style, featuring arches and towers typical of this revival. Healy Hall is one of the last large-scale High Victorian Gothic buildings in America and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
• O Street Northwest & 35th Street Northwest - Discover the local laws that have shaped Georgetown and hear about some local zoning and preservation stories, including a beloved bagel shop across the street.
• Georgetown Visitation Monastery - Founded by Alice Lalor from County Kilkenny, Ireland, in the late 1700s, the Georgetown Visitation Monastery opened a school on June 24, 1799. It remains an active monastery with an all-girls Catholic prep school next door.
• Volta Bureau - In 1887, Alexander Graham Bell, inventor and educator for the deaf, established the Volta Bureau as a library for deaf individuals and researchers of deafness. It is recognized as a National Historic Landmark.
