- Dune 7 - Located 6km from town along the C14, Dune 7 is a favored picnic destination for locals. The picnic area, now partially covered by sand, features several palm trees providing shade behind the dune.
- Moon Landscape - The Namib Desert, one of the world’s oldest, boasts the tallest shifting sand dunes and a vibrant array of colors. Visitors can explore the distinctive flora and terrain of this dry region, then drive through the Swakop River Valley into the Moon Landscape. This dramatically eroded valley, shaped by winds into stunning rock formations and sand, resembles the moon’s surface. The journey continues to Welwitschia Valley, where numerous welwitschia plants and intriguing lichen can be observed. A scenic stop is planned for a light lunch and refreshments.
- Swakopmund Jetty - Originally commissioned on April 25, 1905, the wooden Swakopmund Jetty was 275m long and 9m wide. By 1907, it was extended by 50m and widened by 5m. In 1911, a decision was made to replace it with a steel jetty, and construction began in 1912. Over the years, the jetty became a favorite spot for anglers and those enjoying leisurely walks with views of Swakopmund. Unfortunately, due to a lack of major repairs, it was deemed unsafe and closed in 1983. Thankfully, funds were raised, repairs were completed, and the jetty reopened in October 2006. The Jetty 1905 restaurant, offering stunning sea and Swakopmund views, opened in 2010 at the jetty’s end. Today, the jetty is a major tourist attraction and remains popular with locals for recreation.
