An experience our family will cherish forever - An experience our family will cherish forever Our family of four—my wife, our two children, and I—recently had the privilege of doing the 4×4 Sunset Sandwich Harbour tour with Chena Tours & Safaris, and it was nothing short of extraordinary and we were all in awe!!! From the moment we set off, we knew we were in safe and capable hands. Sammy, our guide, is truly a gem. His deep knowledge of the terrain, calm confidence while navigating the dunes, and genuine warmth made the journey both thrilling and reassuring—especially as we were travelling with children. He didn’t just drive us; he shared stories, explained the beauty of Namibia’s unique landscapes, and made sure every moment felt special. Seeing the majestic dunes meet the Atlantic Ocean was surreal—one of those rare places on earth that leaves you speechless. What made it even more special was how thoughtfully the experience was paced, allowing us to soak in the views, take photos, laugh, and truly bond as a family. This was not just a tour; it was a memory beautifully crafted by people who genuinely care about what they do. If you’re visiting Namibia and want an authentic, safe, and unforgettable Sandwich Harbour experience, I cannot recommend Chena Tours & Safaris enough. And if you get the chance to have Sammy as your guide, consider yourself very lucky. Thank you, Chena team, for giving our family an experience we will remember for a lifetime. Highly recommended - Fantastic experience in a magical place, the escort / driver Andrew in addition to being very experienced and nice was very attentive to the needs of everyone. The breaks in the most suggestive points have been carefully studied to suggest the customer as much as possible. The "roller coaster" on the dunes, then, gave a hint of madness to the experience to make it truly unforgettable. Cold drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and great food and plenty. In addition to the description of the places and fauna we also had the opportunity to talk generically about the history, society and ways and customs of the place, which I personally appreciated a lot. Price in line with the competition maybe a little less. If it were up to me I would go back at least once a month: highly recommended.

Anything you need in Walvis Bay? just ask Chena Tours - Mr. Andries, an experienced local who knows the dunes and 4x4 driving like the back of his hand, took us out to Sandwich Harbour. He adapted the tour to our needs on the fly and was always down-to-earth, friendly, and approachable. We witnessed the breathtaking dunes at sunset and spotted whales, oryx, springboks, flamingos, and much more. Chena Tours has an office at the Walvis Bay Waterfront. We stopped by the day before our tour, and the staff were incredibly accommodating — they even arranged a marine safari for us after another operator cancelled last minute. I later found out that it was actually the owner of the company who personally made sure we had everything packed for the drive and even called afterward to check that everything went well. My only regret is not going straight to Chena Tours from the start — it would have saved me a lot of stress when planning the holiday.
