A great way to see the plantation without a car. - Edward, our bus driver, did such a nice job of giving us some of the history and pointing out landmarks to and from our visit to the Whitney Plantation. At the plantation you have 2 hours to tour it by yourself. It is a must do if you would like to further understand the atrocities of slavery in our country and what life would have been like on sugar cane plantation as an enslaved person. A very sad and sobering day, in which you do much reflection afterwards. That being said, it was nice to not have to worry about transportation. Edward picked each person up at a designated hotel spot and was a very safe and informative driver.

Would recommend doing ! - The bus picked us up within the 30 minute window we were told, and the bus ride was comfortable. It was a 45-50 ride, and it was neat to see another area of LA (drove over a portion of Lake Pontchatrain) and some swampy land. The tour was self-guided with easy-to-use handheld devices, and it was super informative without being overwhelming. The paths were well marked, and it took us about 70 mins to get through it (allotted closer to 2 hours). It was moving and sobering but enjoyed it because of the education in our dark US history.

Important and so infomational. - This was an amazing tour! Our bus driver was very knowledgeable and I liked that we got to go at our own pace once we were at the plantation. The content was so important, I definitely wanted time to sit with it and reflect. I had plenty of time to do the tour. A must do if you are in New Orleans!

“An Exceptional Ride and History Lesson on the Way to Whitney Plantation” - Our visit to the Whitney Plantation on March 13th was one of the most powerful and memorable experiences of our trip to New Orleans, and much of that experience began with our excellent transportation provider, Edward. Edward safely transported us to and from the plantation, but he did far more than simply drive. During the ride, he provided rich historical context about New Orleans, the surrounding region, and the history connected to the Whitney Plantation. His knowledge added depth and meaning to the experience before we even arrived at the site. Edward shared thoughtful historical insights along the way, helping us better understand the significance of the plantation and the broader history of Louisiana. His commentary was informative, engaging, and respectful of the difficult history connected to the site. By the time we arrived, we felt more prepared to fully appreciate the powerful stories preserved at the Whitney Plantation. Equally important, Edward was professional, courteous, and welcoming throughout the entire trip. The ride was comfortable, well organized, and timely, and he ensured that everyone felt at ease. If you are visiting New Orleans and planning a trip to the Whitney Plantation, I highly recommend traveling with Edward. Having a knowledgeable transportation provider who shares historical insight along the journey truly enriches the entire experience. Thank you, Edward, for helping make this visit so meaningful and memorable. — Danielle and Kevin Harrell

Good experience to raise awareness - As a learning experience, awareness, and approach to history is a very positive activity, even our children aged 11 and 12 enjoyed it! The bus transfer is not so comfortable.
