Amazing 👌🏼 - Just amazing!! Edward was the guide and was so knowledgeable from the start at pick up. Great plantation which really did give you an insight as to what it would have been like on the plantation. Sad but the history was interesting and you can’t change history. I would recommend this trip!! 😁

1,000,000,000/10 I highly recommend - Transportation with Legendary Tours was absolutely amazing due to our driver Edward. Along the way he kept us informed with historical information about the state of Louisiana, New Orleans, different cities in New Orleans, and landmarks in different parishes. He showed us houses from the show Queen Sugar and the movie Dajango. Thankfully I’ve seen both to know he was telling the truth lol. It was great to see them in person. The Whitney Plantation is a must see for children. My 13yr old son enjoyed it and wants to go back. If you haven’t been please plan a trip as soon as possible. I as an adult learned so much so imagine the information your kid(s) will learn as well. Make sure you have some extra cash to tip your driver and for the gift shop ( it’s a little pricey). So glad I finally had the opportunity to see the Whitney Plantation I highly recommend it.

Sad truth about Slavery - This is a self guided tour with a hand held narrated audio remote to explain the numbered exhibits. This is a great depiction of how life was on a plantation during slavery. Its educational and is powerful. It is sacred ground where our ancestors once lived and died. This is a place all Americans should see. It connects African Americans with their past. Slavery was a crime against humanity that should never be repeated.

Whitney Plantation Tour with Legendary Tours - The driver Edward was very engaging and informative. I enjoyed the trip there and back . Would highly recommend Legendary Tours . I toured with my 16 yr old daughter . She was apprehensive at first .liked that the tour was self paced , didn’t feel rushed at all. As the tour went on she became more engaged and she said she learned a lot about history and she’d recommend her friends to experience this excursion.

Informative tour - I scheduled this very informative tour through Viatar with Legendary Tours. Our tour guide was Edward. The hotel pick up/drop off was seamless. Edward shared local info as we journeyed to the museum. Your only stop is the plantation. So meet your restroom, snack, drink needs accordingly. Whitney Plantation tour focuses mainly on the history and lifestyle related to slavery. You will see the plantation structures and their history/use, sculptures/memorials, etc. The majority of the tour is outside as you follow the paths all around the grounds. I’d suggest water, walking shoes, and weather-appropriate attire. There are some benches, shade trees and a few water-misters along the way to help with the summer heat. At the entrance they give you a souvenir lanyard to keep and an audio device that must be returned. You can use their audio device for the outside audio tour or you can scan the WR code and use your phone. The audio device has a screen that also shows photographs as you reach different markers. The volume has a good adjustable range. You hold it up near your ear as you go. The presentation is done in 14 separate markers that you control when the audio portion will play. You can fast forward, pause or rewind if desired as well. There are even audio recordings from interviews of people who were associated with this particular plantation. There is a small gift shop/bookstore and a short indoor portion of the tour that audio is not needed for. I’m glad I took this tour.
