• Wakan - This is an easy tour lasting about 6 hours, perfect for those seeking a brief getaway from Muscat. The journey heads towards Wadi Mistal, where two villages, Hadash and Wekan, can be found. A right turn leads to Wekan, an “Agriculture village” situated 1700 meters above sea level. • Nakhal Fort - The excursion continues to Nakhal, where the beautiful Nakhal Fortress awaits. Nestled at the base of the mountains in a charming small town known for its extensive date palm plantations, this impressive 1500-year-old fortress emerges from the mountain rock, towering above the ancient village as if still deterring potential invaders with its formidable presence. It has witnessed numerous battles and is filled with hidden escape routes and secret passages.
