As the sun peeks over the horizon, Waimea awakens to a day of perfect weather, inviting you to dive into its crystal-clear waters. Start your day with a Waikoloa Catamaran Snorkel adventure, setting sail at 9:00 AM. This three-hour journey on a splendid 54-foot catamaran offers a serene escape along the Waikoloa and Kohala coastlines. With the sun warming your skin and the gentle breeze in your hair, you’ll find yourself surrounded by the vibrant marine life that calls these waters home.
The catamaran provides ample seating and shaded areas, ensuring a comfortable ride as you glide past lava walls and rocky points. The crew, known for their personable and knowledgeable service, will guide you through a snorkeling session where you might spot colorful fish and even a turtle or two. As you float in the tranquil waters, take a moment to appreciate the unspoiled beauty of the coastline, a scene often devoid of boat traffic, making it a truly extraordinary experience.
Fabulous Morning on the Water! - We had a great morning snorkeling and sailing on the Spirit of Aloha. Beautiful boat with a great crew. We saw lots of colorful fish and a turtle while snorkeling. The sailing was fantastic. Drinks and food were plentiful and tasty.
Afternoon Delights: Exploring Waimea
After a refreshing morning at sea, it’s time to explore the charming town of Waimea. Known for its rich history and vibrant culture, Waimea offers a delightful mix of activities to fill your afternoon. Stroll through the local markets, where you can find handmade crafts and sample delicious Hawaiian treats. The town’s laid-back vibe is infectious, making it easy to lose track of time as you wander through its streets.
For those interested in history, a visit to the Pu’ukohola Heiau National Historic Site is a must. This sacred site offers a glimpse into Hawaii’s past, with its ancient temple and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. As you stand on the grounds where Hawaiian royalty once walked, you’ll feel a deep connection to the island’s storied history.
Sunset Serenity: A Cruise to Remember
As the day winds down, prepare for an unforgettable evening with a Sunset Cruise along the Kohala coast. Departing at 4:30 PM, this two-hour journey offers a front-row seat to one of nature’s most spectacular shows. As the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, you’ll have the chance to witness the elusive ‘green flash’—a rare optical phenomenon that occurs just as the sun sets.
The cruise also offers opportunities for snorkeling and fishing, allowing you to immerse yourself in the vibrant marine life that thrives in these waters. Keep an eye out for Alaskan humpback whales and playful spinner dolphins, often seen frolicking in the distance. With bottled water, snacks, and snorkeling equipment provided, all you need to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
