Alternatively, climb the mountain to enjoy breathtaking views and discover numerous Thamudic inscriptions.
- Jebel Khazali - Khazali Canyon From the outside, it may appear as an ordinary mountain, but entering the canyon between the split rocks feels like stepping back in time. Discover the traces of merchants who traveled with their caravans from Egypt to Damascus, and of pilgrims passing through on their way to Mecca. Admire the captivating Thamudic, Nabatean, and Islamic inscriptions, along with petroglyphs of humans, animals, and even footprints. At the far end, you’ll find a series of natural basins, enhancing the canyon’s allure.
- Red Sand Dune - Al Ramal - Red Sand Dune This is the most renowned sand dune in Wadi Rum! Its red hue is due to a high concentration of iron oxide. Although it seems like a simple climb, the soft sand can be challenging to walk on, making it difficult for tourists to climb but entertaining for locals to watch. At the top, enjoy stunning panoramic views of the valley. The best way to descend is by running or sandboarding.
- Little Bridge - Little Bridge Over the years, various severe weather conditions have shaped this natural Little Bridge on a rock formation in the Khor El Ajram area. It is called Little Bridge because it’s only a few meters high and easy to climb, yet the views are breathtaking and it appears quite large and impressive in photos. It’s ideal for families with children and those who prefer not to climb too high. Upon descending, a cup of sweet tea awaits you in the Bedouin tent where you can purchase souvenirs or relax and socialize with locals.
- Wadi Rum Protected Area - White Desert Wadi Rum is famous for its red sand where most tour highlights are located, but further south, the area transforms into the white desert. It feels as if you have entered a completely different world. This area is not yet heavily frequented by tourists, offering more flora to discover and a better chance to spot wildlife. It’s truly special to stand in the white sand and see the transition to the red part in the distance. You can also notice differences in the landscape, rock formations, and even the sand itself.
- Wadi Rum Protected Area - Traditional Bedouin Lunch We will take you to a lovely spot with a great view, where your guide will prepare a delicious traditional lunch, cooked outdoors on the fire. - Lawrence’s House - Lawrence’s House Lawrence’s house holds significant historical importance in Wadi Rum. The Nabateans laid the foundation for this site over 2000 years ago, serving as a stop for passing caravans. Later, it became known as Lawrence’s house, as TE Lawrence, from the story “Lawrence of Arabia,” was based here. After a short climb to the top, you will be amazed by the countless piles of stones. In the past, the Bedouins used to stack stones as road markers. You can see far into the vast desert plain, providing excellent photo opportunities.
- Mushroom Rock - Mushroom Rock in Wadi Rum is home to many famous rock formations, known for their unusual and sometimes amusing shapes. The Mushroom-shaped rock owes its form to years of erosion, with the lower part wearing away faster than the upper part. Mushroom Rock is a fun place to take great pictures and find some shelter. Bedouins used rock formations like this to seek refuge after walking in the hot desert for hours.
- Burdah Rock Bridge - Burdah Rock Bridge At the summit of Jabal Burdah, you will find one of the highest natural rock bridges in the world.
