Wadi Rum Village - Our adventure begins at the Wadi Rum Visitor’s Center. Once all participants have gathered, we will embark on our desert journey.
Wadi Rum - Our journey starts at a charming farm near the camp, offering a glimpse into the Bedouin lifestyle. Animal lovers will delight in meeting our baby camels, sheep, goats, and more. This is a favorite spot for children. We’ll light a campfire, enjoy a refreshing cup of tea, and if you’re interested, you can help feed the animals and plant trees.
NOTE: You have the option to visit the farm in the morning, enjoy the sunset there, or skip it altogether. The choice is yours.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Following the farm visit, we commence our jeep tour of the desert. Our first stop is a breathtaking panoramic view, famously used as a filming location for “The Martian.” Wadi Rum’s sand perfectly mimics the red sands of Mars, offering a truly otherworldly experience.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - After our Martian adventure, we delve into history with a visit to Nabatean, Thamudic, and Arabic inscriptions and petroglyphs, showcasing 12,000 years of human history in Wadi Rum. This is an excellent spot for a camel ride around the area.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Returning to the present, we will visit the massive red sand dune. Climbing the dune can be challenging as the sand shifts beneath your feet. Once at the top, enjoy a stunning view of the desert, and then roll or sandboard down for an adrenaline rush. Please inform us if you’d like to try sandboarding so we can provide the necessary equipment.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Next, we visit Jebel (Mountain) Um Ishrin, one of the two mountains that make Wadi Rum famous, particularly with the Seven Pillars of Wisdom that form the mountain.
Lawrence’s House - We step back in time again to visit a former caravan hub built by the Nabateans, now known as Lawrence’s House. Legend has it that “Lawrence of Arabia” stayed here during the Arab Revolt. You can still see the Nabatean stone stacks on the rocks.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Um Fruth Rock Bridge is perhaps the most iconic and photographed spot in the Wadi Rum desert. If you’re up for the climb, hand us your camera, and we’ll capture the perfect shot for you. #jordan
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Next, we visit another “insta”-worthy location, the famous mushroom rock. Get ready to snap some photos!
Wadi Rum Protected Area - We then head to Burrah Canyon, one of the largest canyons in Wadi Rum. It offers a stunning landscape and is an ideal spot to rest and cook lunch over a fire. Delicious!
Wadi Rum Protected Area - After a satisfying lunch, we explore another fascinating rock formation, this time resembling a giant face shaped by erosion.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - We then visit Lawrence Canyon, also known as Siq Um al Tawaqi. This picturesque canyon features towering red sandstone cliffs and white sand dunes, famous for the face carvings of Lawrence of Arabia and Emir Abdallah Bin Hussein.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Finally, we reach the highlight of the day: sunset. Wadi Rum boasts one of the most beautiful sunsets imaginable. It’s a perfect time to enjoy a cup of Bedouin tea by the campfire or take a camel ride away from the crowds.
Note: As mentioned earlier, you can also choose to watch the sunset at the farm for a particularly relaxing experience.
