Lawrence’s Spring - This natural water source, with its refreshing streams flowing down the mountains into troughs, is a favorite spot for camels! Surrounded by small trees and vibrant green moss, it truly is an oasis. Relax here as the Bedouins and their herds once did, and watch herds of camels eagerly seeking fresh water. Alternatively, climb the mountain for breathtaking views and explore numerous Thamudic inscriptions.
Jebel Khazali - Khazali Canyon - At first glance, it appears to be an ordinary mountain, but entering the canyon between the split mountains is like stepping back in time. Discover traces of merchants traveling with caravans from Egypt to Damascus, and pilgrims journeying to Mecca. Marvel at the Thamudic, Nabatean, and Islamic inscriptions, along with petroglyphs of humans, animals, and footprints. A series of basins can be found at the back.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Red Sand Dune - This is the most renowned sand dune in Wadi Rum, known for its red hue due to high iron oxide content. Though it seems like an easy climb, the soft sand makes it challenging for tourists, providing entertainment for locals. At the summit, enjoy stunning panoramic views of the valley. Descend by running or sandboarding for added fun.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Little Bridge - Over time, various weather conditions have shaped this natural Little Bridge on a rock formation in the Khor El Ajram area. Named “Little Bridge” due to its modest height, it is easy to climb, offering stunning views and appearing large and impressive in photos. Ideal for families with children or those preferring not to climb too high. Upon descent, enjoy a cup of sweet tea in the Bedouin tent, where souvenirs are available, or relax and socialize with locals.
Lawrence’s House - This site holds significant historical importance in Wadi Rum. The Nabateans established its foundation over 2000 years ago as a stop for passing caravans. Later, it became known as Lawrence’s House, as T.E. Lawrence, from “Lawrence of Arabia,” was based here. After a short climb to the top, be amazed by the numerous stone piles. In the past, Bedouins stacked stones as road markers. The expansive desert plain offers excellent photo opportunities.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Traditional Bedouin Lunch - Enjoy a delicious traditional lunch prepared by your guide at a scenic spot. The menu varies daily, featuring warm meals with vegetables, bread, hummus, yogurt, and other local delights. While the meal is being prepared, explore the area with a hike or relax and take in the Wadi Rum landscape.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Abu Khashaba Canyon - Stretch your legs with a pleasant walk through this deep, narrow valley, surrounded by towering mountain walls. The lush greenery contrasts beautifully with the red desert sand. Discover various trees and plants, and listen to the birds chirping. Locals have hung bottles to collect rainwater for the birds. This peaceful oasis offers a 30 to 45-minute walk, with your guide picking you up on the other side.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Umm Fruth Rock Bridge - This 15-meter-high bridge is the most famous in Wadi Rum. While not a historical site, it is perfect for capturing enviable photos. Hand your phone or camera to your guide, who will take impressive photos of you atop the bridge. Locals easily navigate the bridge, but tourists may find it challenging. Small holes have been made to facilitate the climb.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Mushroom Rock - Wadi Rum is home to many famous rock formations, known for their unusual and sometimes amusing shapes. The mushroom-shaped rock owes its form to years of erosion, with the lower part eroding faster than the upper part. Mushroom Rock is a fun spot for photos and offers some shelter. Bedouins used such formations for shelter after long desert walks.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Burdah Rock Bridge - Atop Jabal Burdah, find one of the world’s highest natural rock bridges. During the jeep tour, stop nearby to admire the bridge from a distance. The climb to the bridge takes up to 4 hours and is not included in the jeep tour but can be booked separately.
Wadi Rum Protected Area - White Desert - Known for its red sand, Wadi Rum’s southern area transitions into the white desert, creating a different world. Less frequented by tourists, this area offers more flora and wildlife sightings. Standing in the white sand, observe the transition to the red part in the distance. Notice differences in the landscape, rock formations, and sand.
