One of the Best Tours Ever - We are so happy to have met Ismail and had the opportunity to learn from him about this very special place. The day was so relaxed, informative and fun. His unique knowledge not only as a local, but also as an engineer, made everything particularly interesting and his passion for Petra was contagious. We hope to come back one day and to tour the Monastery with him too!

Memorable tour through Petra with our guide, Ismail! - Visiting Petra was always a dream for us, and our guide Ismail, made it truly unforgettable. From the moment we met at the visitor's center, Ismail's warm smile and deep knowledge set the tone for an incredible day exploring this ancient world wonder.
His storytelling brought Petra’s history to life. As we walked through the narrow Siq, he explained the old brilliant nabatean water engineering, like the water channels carved into the rock. His passion for Petra’s history was infectious, mixing facts with local legends about the nabateans, and their trade empire. At the marvel called the treasury, he skillfully took us through its old history, sharing insights about its architecture and the unmatched nabateans carving skills. His pace was perfect, giving us time to soak in the views and take photos without feeling rushed.
Ismail's ability to tailor the tour, given that we had mixed fitness levels, was outstanding. His fluency in English and patience to answer our endless questions, made the experience seamless.
A highlight was that he invited us to have some tea with a local Bedouin, adding a cultural touch that made the day feel personal and authentic.
Honestly, Ismail's passion, enthusiasm, knowledge, and care made this a 10-star experience. I highly recommend booking Ismail as your guide in Petra, and you won't regret it!

Book with Ismail - Book with Ismail! We highly recommend Ismail for planning your time in Petra and Jordan more broadly. From the first time we emailed he was quick to respond, patient in answering questions and full of ideas about how to make the most of our visit. It was best to email and book with him directly to have a personalised private tour
When we arrived we changed our plan slightly and did the back door path which we would really recommend. Ismail was full of knowledge about ancient Petra and modern Jordan and happily answered yet more of our many questions. He made sure we were comfortable and happy throughout even helping arrange transport to Amman.
Thank you again Ismail we will always remember our time together.

The best trip with one of a kind guide. Ismail is your guy! - Ismail is not just a guide, consider him a brother in Petra. We were honored to meet Ismail, he’s very knowledgeable, kind and explained history to our kids in English. He took amazing photos and stayed with us throughout the 7 hours tour. Excellent Petra Tour with Ismail, Highly Recommended! - Just returned from a fantastic day exploring Petra with Ismail as our guide and wanted to share our experience. We couldn't have made a better choice for our tour.
Ismail is a local who was born in Petra, which gives him an incredible depth of knowledge about the site. We were initially concerned about fitting everything into just one day, but Ismail expertly planned our route to cover all the major attractions plus several hidden gems that most tourists miss. My girlfriend and I were impressed by how comprehensive yet relaxed the pace felt.
What really stood out was Ismail's storytelling ability. His explanations made the ruins much more meaningful and helped us truly appreciate what we were seeing.
Ismail was professional and personable throughout the day. He had excellent timing for breaks, knew the best photography spots. His local expertise made all the difference in maximizing our time there.
The tour felt like the perfect balance of educational and enjoyable. We learned far more than we would have exploring independently, while still having a genuinely fun day out.
If you're planning a visit to Petra, I'd definitely recommend booking with Ismail. His combination of local knowledge, passion for the site, and excellent guiding skills made our Jordan trip truly memorable.

We had the absolute pleasure of exploring Petra with Ismail as our guide last May, and it was hands down one of the best travel experiences we’ve ever had.
Ismail guided us on the incredible backtrail route — starting from the Monastery and ending at the iconic Treasury. The trail itself was breathtaking, but what truly made it special was Ismail’s expert guidance. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating facts and stories that brought Petra’s ancient history to life in a way that felt personal and meaningful.
What stood out the most was Ismail’s warm and honest character. He treated us like family — always looking out for us, making sure we were comfortable, and going out of his way to ensure we had an amazing experience.
To top it all off, he’s also a fantastic photographer and videographer! He took amazing photos and videos of us throughout the journey — memories we’ll truly cherish forever.

Absolutely fantastic and enjoyable - We spent two days with Ismail. He was knowledgeable, patient and funny.
He gave us enough historical context without confusing us.
We really enjoyed our two day tour with him in Petra.
We were exhausted after the two days but were told it would be tough but worthwhile and it was so enjoyable

Amazing tour of Petra - This was everything we wanted in a Petra tour and more! Ismail knew all of the tips and tricks to making the most out of our time there. We started early, per his suggestion, and that made a huge difference. He knows so much about Petra, its history, and it was also wonderful to be guided by someone who grew up in Wadi Rum and has grown up with Petra. Ismail has incredible know-how and brought us to the best spots to view famous Petra structures. He also took us to incredible views off the beaten path (specifically the cafe at the end of the world) that were some of our favorite memories of the trip. Ismail also has great relationships with a lot of the Bedouin merchants, cafe owners, etc. (which cannot be said for other guides) and this is a positive because you interact with them pretty consistently as you go along Petra. His relationships definitely enhanced our experience. This is a great Petra tour, we wouldn't have done it any other way. Thank you, Ismail for an experience we'll never forget!

Highly reliable, trustworthy and knowledgeable local tour guide - We were recommended to Ismail and are so happy we went with him. He is the perfect guide, so knowledgeable about Petra and told us all the wonderful stories. Trustworthy, reliable, excellent communication and a real local. Book Ismail. You won’t be disappointed. - Ismail is the best tour guide I’ve had in my travels. Ismail combines a wonderful personality with deep knowledge, a sense of humor and the stamina of a goat! We had only a short time for our tour at Petra - our family of five - and we were met warmly by Ismail at the entrance to Petra. His English was impeccable and he clearly wanted to share his knowledge. Beaming with pride as a son of Wadi Musa, he took us on a tour that met our timeline but did not leave out a single detail. The history of Petra is incredible and with Ismail’s background as a mechanical engineer, he explained the advanced science of the Nabataeans. He was great with our kids and made us feel welcome. I look forward to meeting him again, when we return!
