• Lake Vouliagmeni - Embarking from Athens and traveling along the scenic Poseidon Avenue for approximately 70 km by the sea, this route takes you through the southern suburbs of Athens, offering one of the most picturesque drives in the Attica region. The journey is enriched with stunning views of the sunlit sea and charming sandy beaches. A must-visit stop is Lake Vouliagmeni, renowned for its therapeutic mineral springs and exceptional beauty. The name “Vouliagmeni” translates to “sunken,” as the lake was formed when the roof of an underground cave collapsed. This stunning lake, situated near the sea and connected to it, is nourished by warm waters from underground thermal springs, providing benefits for the skin and bones.
• Temple of Poseidon - After about an hour, you will arrive at the southern tip of Attica, Cape Sounio, where the Athenians constructed the Temple of Poseidon in 440 BC, dedicated to the god of the sea. The Temple of Poseidon, devoted to the sea god, has stood for 2,500 years on the cliffs of Cape Sounio, the southernmost point of the Attica peninsula. From the rock where the temple is perched, you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Aegean Sea and perhaps witness the most spectacular sunset of your life. On the return journey to Athens, consider dining at one of the local restaurants, perfect for savoring fresh fish and seafood.

This trip takes us through the southern suburbs of Athens, making it one of the most enjoyable drives in the Attica region. As we journey, the shimmer of the sunlight on the sea and the numerous sandy beaches offers a visually delightful experience.

After approximately an hour, we will reach our final destination, Cape Sounio at the southernmost tip of Attica. Here, in 440 BC, the Athenians constructed the temple of Poseidon, honoring the sea god.
