- Temple of Poseidon - After about an hour, you will arrive at the southern tip of Attica, Cape Sounio, where the Athenians constructed the Temple of Poseidon in 440 BC, dedicated to the god of the sea. The Temple of Poseidon, devoted to the sea god, has stood for 2,500 years on the cliffs of Cape Sounio, the southernmost point of the Attica peninsula. From the rock where the temple is perched, you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Aegean Sea and perhaps witness the most spectacular sunset of your life.
