By 10:30 am, arrival in Vung Tau allows for leisure time at Thuy Van beach (Back beach) – renowned as one of Vietnam’s most beautiful beaches, featuring a nearly 10km stretch of fine sand and gentle white waves.
Following this, enjoy an authentic Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant.
Post-lunch, the itinerary includes a visit to the Jesus Christ Statue, involving a climb up 847 stairs to reach the impressive 32-meter-tall (105 feet) statue. This statue, one of Asia’s tallest, has arms extending over 18.4 meters. Construction began in 1972 and concluded in 1993. Adventurous visitors can ascend to the top of Christ’s arms for a stunning panoramic view of Vung Tau city.
Next, explore Thang Tam Temple (Whale Temple), which houses bones symbolizing the coastal protector deity. When a whale carcass washes ashore, the bones are ceremonially transported to the mausoleum.
Discover Vung Tau’s finest colonial-era mansion, Bach Dinh, built as a retreat for French Governor of Indochina Paul Doumer in the early 20th century.
The final stop is Cape Nghinh Phong, offering unobstructed views of Vung Tau City and the East Sea.
At 3:00 pm, the return to Ho Chi Minh City begins, with a brief stop at Long Thanh Cow Milk Rest-stop for specialties and souvenirs.
