Respectful reflection on an Important Australian piece of history - This tour was very interesting and puts the history in perspective. I had seen the movie and visit and chat with Vietnam vets in Greenslopes hospital but actually visiting the site where it all happened, what an experience. The tour guide “dingo” does it very respectfully.

Long Tan Tour September 2025 - Great trip with Dingo! As a former member of the Royal Australian Regiment, 5/7RAR, I found Dingo’s reverence and respect for our fallen a very touching and poignant tribute to them on our behalf. We attended the sites of what was the Australian base, sites of several unit locations, artillery, HQ , SAS hill, and then to the 2 memorial sites, 6RAR flagpole site near where BHQ was for the ode and a minute’s silence. Then on to Long Tan battle site, the memorial still stands, including the cross. Another brief ceremony, where Dingo respectfully pays tribute at the site. Then onto the tunnel, watch your head! Off for a yummo lunch and a cold beer! It’s a longer day with a 2 ish hour drive there and back, take mozzie spray, in the rubber plantation! Please know that their government doesn’t really want us there, so Dingo has to be stealthy in his tour, and some of the sites are roads and farmland now, the memorials were the highlight for me, I felt honoured to be there and made it totally worthwhile for me. We will remember them, lest we forget.

A great day spent with ‘Dingo’ visiting an important piece of Australia’s military history. - The tour started with a hotel pickup and a comfy ride to the area in a well appointed car. With a comfort stop at the town of Ba Ria we moved to the 1ATF base area at Nui Dat. Dingo’s knowledge of the area was a standout and he guided effortlessly around the area visiting the kiwi artillery battery’s location and the Task Force HQ area followed by SAS Hill, Luscombe as well as the Battalion locations. We finished up with a small sevice at the 6RAR memorial. We then moved on to the Long Tan Cross where again Dingo conducted a small, appropriate service. The tour concluded with a visit to a small tunnel complex and an awesome lunch in Ba Ria. All in all a great way to visit these important Australian historic sites.

Visit to Long Tan and Nui Dat Battiefields - Excellent day trip. Dingo (our guide) spoke perfect English, was very knowledgable with information about the area, what happened at each stop and paid a wonderful tribute at the memorials. Told some interesting stories of the area and events. Would recommend to anyone with an interest in what happened. A+++
