An exceptional Vietnamese coffee course - Su Quán Roastery offers a beautifully curated Vietnamese coffee course rather than a standard café experience. From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere encourages you to slow down, be present, and really engage with the craft behind each cup. The course was thoughtfully structured, with each coffee prepared and explained in detail. The egg coffee was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced, while the salt coffee was unexpectedly complex — enhancing the coffee’s depth rather than overpowering it. Every tasting felt intentional and educational without being overwhelming. A huge credit to Pa and Simon, who were fantastic throughout the course. They were warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate, guiding us through each stage with patience and clarity. Their storytelling and attention to detail made the experience feel personal, relaxed, and immersive. Watching the brewing process unfold at the bar — precise pours, measured steps, and careful technique — added to the ritual and appreciation of each coffee. ☕️✨

Amazing day out - Such a great experience and one of the highlights of Hanoi. The host was friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke excellent English. We learned how to make several traditional Vietnamese coffees including egg coffee, salted coffee, coconut coffee and using the phin filter – all hands-on, not just watching. The group size was small, the atmosphere relaxed, and there was plenty of time to ask questions and taste everything. It felt authentic rather than touristy, and the coffee was genuinely delicious. Amazing value for money and a really fun way to learn about Vietnamese coffee culture. Highly recommend!

Good times, lovely teacher - The class was very well structured, timing smooth from one part to the next. This allowed for proper pacing of the drinks. The quality of education was wonderful, as I not only learned about Vietnamese methods, but it enlightened my views on western methods of producing coffee as well. The place is out of the downtown area, but this is a blessing as you will be able to see other parts of Hanoi. If you appreciate the art of coffee making , this is a great experience.

Excellent intro to coffee making and enjoying - Lively, fun, and informative. This was a great addition to my Hanoi stay and a really useful way to be introduced to Vietnam's coffee culture and tastes. Maxie was our instructor during the morning session. Her English was very good and she seemed to be very passionate about her job and her coffee. I visited as a solo traveler but quickly found coffee friends in our little group from South Africa and Philippines. Getting to Su Quan on my own from the Old Quarter was not too difficult thanks to Grab and the good visual instructions provided by Su Quan. And it was nice to see a more quiet "suburb" of Hanoi. If you want to learn more about how to make and enjoy Vietnamese coffee, then this is the tour you should choose.
