The tour begins in the village of Virpazar, one of the earliest settlements in the region. Here, participants will prepare their kayaks, secure their belongings in dry bags, and receive a brief orientation and instructions before setting off.
Initially, the journey involves paddling through the small Crmnica River, which flows beneath the Old Bridge, constructed in 1905. The route then leads through an area of tall water grass, a nature reserve that hosts a vast array of bird species. After approximately 30 minutes, participants will reach Skadar Lake, one of the country’s five National Parks.
Continuing for another 30 minutes, the tour passes by Grmozur Island, home to a small, abandoned fort that once served as a prison in the 19th century. An hour of paddling will bring visitors to Lesendro Fort, built in the 18th century, and another abandoned fort on a different island. After a brief visit, the tour proceeds to Pelinovo Beach, where participants can enjoy refreshments and a swim. Once ready, the group will return along the same route to Virpazar.
