• Los Haitises - After collecting guests from various hotels, the journey will commence towards the main highlight of the day, the stunning Los Haitises National Park, situated in the Hato Mayor province. The new Miches Highway reduces travel time to approximately 2 hours, offering picturesque views of the Dominican countryside along the way. Visitors will be captivated by rice, coffee, cocoa, and tropical fruit plantations, while the guide shares fascinating insights into Dominican culture and traditions.

The trip includes a brief stop at a souvenir shop for a light breakfast and restroom break before proceeding. Passing through the town of Sabana de la Mar, the journey continues for about half an hour on a dirt road to reach the secluded Los Haitises National Park.

• Los Haitises National Park - The park’s name originates from its first inhabitants, the Taino Indians, with “Haitises” meaning “Highlands” or “Hills” in their language. From the main port, Caño Hondo (Deep Creek), a small boat ride awaits. Wearing life jackets, guests will enjoy the path through the red mangrove forest leading to San Lorenzo Bay, home to massive limestone mountain islands known as Mogotes. Over 700 plant species and numerous wetland birds can be observed, along with manatees, crustaceans, and dolphins in the water.

The adventure continues deeper into the park to explore caves like Cueva de la Arena and Cueva de la Linea. These caves served as shelters for the Taino Indians and later as hideouts for pirates.
