Ho Chi Minh – Ben Tre – Tra Vinh (L/D) CYCLING 55KM
Ho Chi Minh City - In the morning, the operator and guide will pick guests up at the hotel lobby for departure to Tan An, where the biking tour begins.
Long An Province - In Tan An, the biking adventure starts on paved roads to explore the world of fruit orchards. Dragon fruit is the most popular crop that local farmers cultivate to boost their income. Participants will bike 25km on this stage, with stops to savor fresh fruits and enjoy the company of cheerful children, possibly seen on their way home from school. Lunch will be at a Vietnamese restaurant.
Ben Tre - Afternoon:
In the afternoon, there will be a relaxing one-hour drive in a comfortable van to Ben Tre’s most picturesque village, featuring easy paths and over 70% coconut trees in local farms:
• Pedal under the shady coconuts along small, narrow lanes,
• Make several stops to enjoy fresh coconut water and fruits,
• Pass by family workshops producing coconut chopsticks and various fibers.
A ferry ride will cross the Mighty Mekong River, followed by a short transfer to the center of Tra Vinh Remote Town for an overnight stay at a 3-star hotel.
Tra Vinh - Can Tho (B/L) Cycling 55 km
Tra Vinh Province - Morning:
Rising early to enjoy the sunrise at 6 am is recommended. With nice weather and a clear sky, this is a wonderful moment on the Mekong Riverside. Breakfast begins at 7:30 with simple foods like bread, jam, milk, fruit, and coffee or tea. Time to relax and prepare for the biggest cycling tour of the 3-day journey. After leaving the guesthouse and bidding farewell to the hostess, participants will explore a hundred orchards on the island, riding past fruit yards of pomelo, guava, durian, and rambutan, with opportunities to chat with farmers. A visit to a Khmer pagoda may also be included. The ride continues to secret Khmer villages, offering insights into their life, heavily influenced by Khmer culture, with many stops for photography in front of artfully thatched houses and water coconut leaves. This is a truly enriching experience with colorful temples and flowers along the way to Tieu Can. A transfer and lunch in Tra Met with a siesta follow.
Can Tho - Afternoon:
The afternoon ride is a fantastic route under a canopy of pomelos and across 3 ferries, with endless rice fields on Luc Si Thanh & My Hoa. The journey continues to Can Tho for another overnight stay at a 4-star hotel.
Can Tho - Long Xuyen - Chau Doc (B/L) Cycling 60km
Can Tho - Morning:
Anyone who visits Can Tho and witnesses the bustling floating market will never forget it! A boat ride will take participants to the floating market before the biking begins. The cycling route passes through Phong Dien’s countryside, an area with many small natural creeks across various villages. After a fruit stop at Phong Dien,
• Continue biking along the river track, enjoying the daily activities of locals on the rivers;
• Observe grocery boats advertising plastic household goods,
• Cargo boats selling sand for construction, small fast boats transporting pigs and ducks to local markets, and many small ferries carrying passengers to the other side.
• Lunch will be in the town of Thoi Lai.
Long Xuyen - Afternoon:
The journey continues along paths to Co Do and Long Xuyen. In the afternoon, participants will cycle deeply into paths along man-made canals, racing with local boats, water taxis, cargo boats, and sampans in the Tra Su cajuput forest. If time allows, the sunset on Sam Mountain in western Chau Doc offers stunning photo opportunities. Overnight accommodation will be at a 3-star hotel in Chau Doc.
Chau Doc - Ho Chi Minh (B/L) Cycling 45km
Chau Doc - Morning:
Many people know the Mekong Delta as Vietnam’s largest rice region, but it is also the largest area for herbs and mangoes! Starting early at 7 am, a short transfer to Binh Thuy hamlet will lead to cycling through the Cho Moi district, known for its Hoa Hao religious spirit and highlights of herbs, herbal medicine, incense workshops, and typical pagodas along the route.
Ho Chi Minh City - Afternoon:
After lunch, participants will cycle 10 km under the lush shade of mango trees (with opportunities to see and taste mangoes during harvest by local farmers) before being transferred from Cao Lanh to Saigon in the late afternoon. The total cycling distance for the day is approximately 45 km!
