Great Way to Finish a Day - Haus der Music (House of Music) was our last stop during a self-guided walking tour of Vienna. It has a good collection of artifacts from famous classical musicians and composers for their famous orchestra. They also have a ton of interactive exhibits that make it perfect for families, date nights or anyone that has an interest in music. The Haus der Music has exhibits across several floors and there is an elevator and plenty of spaces to sit so it remains fairly accessible. We started on the orchestra floor which has personal belongings of the orchestra's most significant composers. A highlight for us was watching the video of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and their New Year's Eve Concert - Probably won't be able to go to a real one but felt this was the next best thing. The next floor has a lot of interactive exhibits where you can see sound, understand the hearing range for different species and even create your own sound creatures. It was interesting enough but we didn't spend a whole lot of time here. We spent a lot of time on the third floor which has exhibitions for some of the most famous classical composers like Haydn, Mozart and Strauss. I enjoyed sitting and reading to learn more about these composers. My wife is more musically inclined then I am and really enjoyed this whole museum so it was perfect for her. The last floor has an area where you can "conduct" the philharmonic orchestra and an interesting sound room with hundreds of drawers. The cost to enter is 17 Euros and they have discounted rates including 13 Euros for students. They host special music exhibitions including concerts in their entrance hall and they have a good gift shop with affordable souvenirs. They are pretty centrally located in Vienna and are close to popular tourist areas including sites like the Vienna Opera House, Annakirche, and Stadtpark. There is a lot to see and do nearby as well as many good restaurants, cafes and shops.

Very nice museum - Very nicely designed museum dedicated to different composers of the Viennese classical, the Vienna Philharmonic and the physics of sound. There are several ways to interact, which is why the museum is also worthwhile with children.

Visit Vienna Music House - An extremely interesting and also fun visit. The staircase with its note steps... the great idea! Invite you to go up and down and listen to your own steps. Try conducting the Vienna Symphony with Mozart's 42nd Symphony. If one loves music the visit is unmissable

Interactive Fun for the Whole Family - This is a lovely interactive museum about music in general especially the composers who lived or performed in Vienna: Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, Mahler and Strauß. It was so much fun and my kids loved it too. This is a great destination for those travelling with kids.

Immerse yourself in music 🎵 - An excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in sound and music. With many interactive aspects this venue is good for all ages and you don't need to be a classical music super fan. There's the opportunity to create a waltz, to compare sounds and how we respond. You can even have a go at conducting the Vienna Philharmonic. Whilst it suggests 60-90 minutes for a visit you can spend a lot longer, especially if you are into classical music and composers.

Interactive museum with diverse immersive experiences - Really good museum. The third floor is very complete (history of famous composers linked to Vienna). Diverse immersive experiences complete the tour. However some experiences have a "gadget" side (on the second floor)

A different take on a music museum - The Haus der Musik manages to present a very interesting and compelling experience despite not having a huge collection of items. It was an innovative take on music, and a very enjoyable museum to visit.

If you have a spare hour to spare on a rainy day - Good for 1 hour on a rainy day should be called the classical house as the only music is classic and mostly stuff to read a coupld of things that did not work properly we had to work out how to throw the dice, as it was all in german as for other interactive things they were not working or there was lines , so an hour for 4 floors was plenty maybe have one floor for each genre of music would be better
