The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable! The bus was a bit cramped but we had a full tour. I wish we had got to tour the wineries when we were there.
The food was inadequate for lunch - especially when you've been feeding people liquor all day.
Our guide, Emily, had had some vehicle issues and the tour ended up started about 45 minutes behind schedule. She was apologetic, polite, and witty. She treated all of us with respect and we enjoyed her company. Since i was in the back of the van the entire time, i did miss any educational info she might have had provided re: the area we were traveling but overall our experience was excellent.
The wineries were perfect, the only problem was our tour guide because he paid more attention to the other three people on the tour than the rest of us, it looked like he only came with the ladies haha for was not a big problem but my mother got really upset about it so maybe you could just take care of that.
The guide was outstanding. Anworth winery was superb. Enricos was a horrible dump with the cheapest snacks and slowest service. Horrible. Never again.blue grouse was beautiful venue with horrible presenter who could not had us sooner out of the door. Will not purchase again. Will not recommend. Was ashamed having my friends as guests for this trip.
Our tour guide was awesome! Really enjoyed the ease of getting around and the ride was enjoyable.
Good things - or guide/driver was really pleasant to talk to nod ensured that we got everywhere safely and to time. There were only six of us on the tour and it felt very laid back throughout which was just what we wanted. Things to possibly improve - it felt a bit as though our guide was only there to drive us from place to place and he didn't really have a great deal of knowledge to share about the vineyards or the wine produced there. It might have been nice to have had a more formal talk about wine tasting and to actually tour a vineyard. Overall still enjoyed it as it was a lovely sunny and relaxing day with a very nice lunch and pleasant company.
It would have been nice to have been able to go to 1 or 2 more wineries- we drove right by Damali. Guide was self-deprecating, and undersold their wine knowledge. Think they were trying to be honest about how little they knew, but I think they could have just stood in confidence about what they did know and say they were continually learning. Lunch was disappointing and cheap, plastic cheese- yuck. We did have fun though overall. Just some areas for improvement.
Lovely day in the valley. We got to have some input as to which wineries we visited (Unsworth, Enrico, and Cherry Point--all great). Eric was a great guide--he was very friendly. The atmosphere was nice, and we never felt rushed. We took the Cowichan Tour last year, and we loved it so much that we decided to take it again this year.
Well organized. Guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
Tour guide was on time, informative and helpful.
I did NOt appreciate being asked to sign the liability waiver. That's fine for any accident I may cause but you should have insurance for participants liability if there is a car accident or other accident caused by your service. Driver guide was fine but after tastings I would say BC wines are not ready for prime time.
Overall, my group was satisfied with the wine tour in of itself. There were a couple of "miscommunications" with the Company Craft Tours, however. The driver was unaware of a couple of last minute passengers , there was no water offered to us, no one knew what our food options would be for the provided lunch and some of us were under the impression that we would be dropped back off at our hotel with our purchases instead of the initial meeting place and that didn't happen either....
Cam was great! He explained everything in detail, he was accommodating, we had a great time at all of the wineries and we really appreciated the bonus stop at Merridale on the way home! Excellent day, I won't hesitate to book with Canadian craft tours again in the future.
The tour was enjoyable, and the choice of wineries was excellent -- they all had something different to offer. However, the lunch was a profound disappointment. When booking a winery lunch, we certainly didn't expect pre-sliced cold cuts and grocery store salami when ordering a meat and cheese platter. Particularly when the price of the platter if NOT ordered in advance would have been just 7.50, instead of the $15++ that we paid booking through you. It is not unreasonable to expect that lunch at a winery is a winery lunch, not a fast-food equivalent at a grossly inflated price. We would have willingly paid a higher price for a proper winery lunch. Unfortunately, the combination of poor lunch at a 100% mark-up overshadowed the positive aspects of an otherwise pleasant day.
I had no expectations. Had a very enjoyable time. Christopher was a great Host and Driver. Maybe a bit more time for lunch next time and added menu choices.
The staff at CCT were all so amazing and nice. The tour was ok, taste some excellent wine and learned a lot, however the lunch at Enrico was very disappointing, to say the least. For $15 we received a lunchable, basically: 6 small cheese slices, few slices of salami or pepperoni, crackers, and some raw vegetables with ranch dip and a small chocolate wafer. The menu board showed meat and cheese board $7.50 and when I asked why the price difference I was told that is just the meat and cheese, not all the extras (vegetables and dip, a couple nacho chips and salsa). Not only was it a rip off that did not come with a wine pairing, it was all pre packaged food. A huge let down when you are expecting a "winery lunch". People who love wine typically also love food and it's a shame the lunch is so overlooked. It really ruined the experience because we were hungry for the duration of the trip. Anyhow, with a decent lunch I would have no complaints! But it was an ongoing joke among all the guests for the duration of the tour so I felt I needed to include this in my review.
We had a great time, but the lunch was really terrible. When going wine tasting, you really do expect a winery lunch - I highly recommend reminding yourself that people who love wine love food! The food was something more suited to a child's lunch. However, we did have a nice time.
I enjoyed it but I thought Cam could have been a bit more descriptive about the wineries. Also the van you had last year was more comfortable. It was a shuttle bus type last time.
I'm glad I finally had the opportunity to participate in this experience. Our tour guide, Cam was great! He was informative, courteous and helpful. One suggestion/recommendation would be to have a vehicle that has easier access to get in and out of (for lrg groups). I also didn't see the point in stopping at the Malahat coffee shop?? Maybe a bit later of a start or an extra winery stop would be more appropriate? The tour said 6hrs yet pick up was at 10am and drop off was 3pm. I realize extra time needs to be allowed for road conditions and traffic but I suggest rewording the tour description. I also would like to know why we were chrgd $15 for lunch when the winery only chrgd $7.50?? Overall I enjoyed the trip but I probably wouldn't do another. No reflection on your company, just things I made a mental note of.
Unsworth Winery was nice but very business like we did enjoy their wine, we bought 2 white wine. Enrico was fun, brother and sister both helped to make it an enjoyable experience and the lunch was great and enjoyed their red and white bought both wine. Cherry Point was a disappointment did not buy wine and would not go back, but I did enjoy the port. The driver was very quiet only talked if he was spoken to and seemed to keep to himself. Not like I had read in other reviews about the drivers. We were told to meet at Unsworth at 10:50am but the tour did not get there until about 11:20 which made for a long wait outside as we had been driven their and our ride left. We where given waivers to sign before the tour could start and I like to read what I sign so I felt like I was holding up the group as my husband and I read the waiver first. My suggestion would be to email the waiver with the itinerary so people can have it, read it, signed it and bring it with them. I would recommend your Tour to others as it was nice not to worry about drinking to much and then driving home as we did arrange pick up after the tour ended.
Each winery was great. The stop at the Malahat chalet was also great. Wish we got some more information during the drive. Maybe add a stop on the way home.
