In Kasane, game drives are a favorite activity for travelers who enjoy the outdoors. The journey from Kasane to Chobe National Park takes less than 10 minutes, offering the chance to explore a park with one of Africa’s largest concentrations of wildlife. Although it ranks as the third largest park in the country, it is the most biologically diverse and Botswana’s first national park. The park is renowned for its elephant population, which has grown from a few thousand to over 50,000, making it the highest elephant concentration in Africa.

During this activity, guests will be picked up from their lodge or hotel in Kasane to travel to Chobe National Park. Pick-up times vary based on the location of your accommodation, as the aim is to reach the gates by 6:30 am. Please remember to bring US$10 for park entry. The game drive will be conducted in a custom-built 4×4 safari vehicle with open sides for exceptional views. A qualified safari guide will ensure your safety and provide insights into the park’s unique ecosystem and diverse wildlife. This is an excellent opportunity for photographers to capture wildlife in a breathtaking landscape.

As this is a private game drive, guests are encouraged to request their guide to search for specific birdlife, wildlife, or unique areas within the park.

Following the game drive, a buffet lunch will be served at a hotel on the river, where guests can relax before embarking on a sunset cruise. You will join others on a specially adapted boat to glide along the river, through exclusive islands that serve as a sanctuary for birds and wildlife. This offers ample opportunity to enjoy the beautiful river scenery and close-up views of numerous animals, including elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife. The boat cruise is considered a “must-do” when visiting Chobe National Park. Relax and enjoy the complimentary drinks provided on your Chobe River cruise.

After the cruise, you will be transferred out of Chobe National Park by 6 pm and returned to your lodge in Kasane. Special arrangements can be made for those staying outside of Kasane, such as in Victoria Falls.

The Game Drive into Chobe National Park will start at 6:30am. Your driver will be a professional guide with extensive knowledge on the park and its inhabitants. The park is especially known for its massive elephant population, huge array of bird species and big cats such as lion and leopard. You will discover some of the parks distinct ecosystems with dense woodland, extensive savannahs and rolling grasslands while travelling along the Caprivi flood plains. As this is a private game drive you can ask your guide to tailor your trip towards specific birdlife or wildlife if you like.

After the game drive lunch will be served at a hotel on the riverbank before getting on a boat for the Chobe River Cruise. This will give you ample opportunity to enjoy the gorgeous river scenery and extraordinarily close views of lots of animals, including elephants, hippos, crocodiles and birdlife.
Relax and enjoy the complimentary drinks while gliding along the Chobe River as the sun sets.
