Hiking through a serene forest. - Alan was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable. We explored 2 different areas, both were wonderful. The hike itself wasn’t difficult. We saw woodpeckers and other wildlife. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to see more than what’s in the city.

Nature Hike in Victoria Canada - We had an absolutely incredible hiking experience in Victoria, Canada! From start to finish, our guide made this adventure unforgettable. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable about the area, but he was also eager to ensure we had the best experience possible.
Throughout the hike, he pointed out stunning viewpoints, unique natural features, and hidden gems that we would have never noticed on our own. His passion for the outdoors was contagious, making the journey both educational and exciting.
One of the best parts? He took tons of great pictures of our group, capturing all the memorable moments so we could truly enjoy the experience without worrying about snapping photos ourselves.
If you’re looking for a breathtaking hike with a fantastic guide who goes above and beyond, this is the one to book! Highly recommended for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. We can’t wait to return!

Beautiful Hikes in Victoria! - My husband and I had such a great time on our Rainforest Hiking tour in Victoria! Alan was so kind and hospitable. He was very helpful and communicative even before we docked in Victoria. We arrived on a Disney cruise on Thursday morning and he greeted us at the port with our name on a sign. He took us on two different hikes and also showed us around the castle at Royal Roads University. We had a wonderful experience and recommend it to anyone visiting Victoria!

Unforgettable! - What a great experience! This was our 4th time in Victoria and never before did we get to explore these breathtaking rainforests. Thank you Alan for guiding us on this most awesome adventure. Alan has a thorough knowledge of the local flora and fauna, we learned so much. Alan was punctual, his vehicle was spotless, he offered us water and was a tremendous resource. We will be back in Victoria and will definitely book another adventure with Alan!

Rainforest hike is very recommended! - Last week, my husband and I wanted to get out into the renowned forests and natural areas outside of the city of Victoria, after we had spent several days in and near the city. The hike offered by Surfside Adventures was one of the only ones we could find, and we could fit it into our last afternoon on our visit. One of the guides, Alan A. answered our phone call and even made last-minute accommodations and change of plans for his day in order to fit in our hike for just my husband and me! We were touched by this level of service. Guide Alan A. picked us up at the Fairmont Empress and drove us to two different spots beyond the city for some hiking and exploring. We saw a forest filled with cedars and ferns, and we saw another hike with lush ivy-covered waterfalls. It was a great taste of the nature on Vancouver Island! The guide, Alan A. was knowledgeable, safety-conscious, professional, personable, and guided in just the best way to help us feel served well, to help us learn more about the area, and to have our afternoon be custom-oriented to what my husband and I were interested in seeing. We enjoyed getting to know Alan and hearing some of his story, which complemented his informative tour of the landscape and country (Canada) that is now his family's home. Hearing his love for the landscape, and getting to know someone who lives in Victoria, were benefits in addition to simply hiking and sightseeing. The custom private tour was great as well as professional, and we recommend Surfside Adventures to you, too. Thank you, Alan, for the memorable afternoon. R & R.

Excellent tour with Alan, hiking and experiencing the natural side of Victoria Island. - Such a great tour, we stopped by on our Alaskan cruise from Seattle. Wonder tour that takes you hiking in one it the most beautiful rainforests in the world.

An enjoyable forest walk - Darwin was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. He chose a couple of different forest walks with multiple different habitats /forest floor vegetation. It was a moderate hike but he will adjust to suit your abilities. An enjoyable experience and chance to learn about nature on the island. A**

Very knowledgeable and... - Very knowledgeable and friendly guide, we truly enjoyed the tour and definitely recommend it. Darwin adapted the tour to our fitness level and interests so that we got the maximum out of the time spent.

Great insight to the area - Booked this trip as only in Victoria for a day as part of a bigger trip, wanted to get the best from the area. Hugely accommodating when our other trip on the same day had to re- schedule and they still managed to fit us in.
Alan met us at our hotel and took us to some lovely places, spoke well about the area and what we were seeing, a walk through the forest, another around a coastal area, 2 stunning local buildings, and soaring eagles. The sun was out, stunning scenery, a lovely afternoon, I think maybe we were expecting more of a hike and more ground covered, more wildlife etc.
It was a very pleasant afternoon but just felt it could/would have been more but nothing actually negative about it, we are just used to walking more perhaps, therefore felt a bit of a stroll than a hike to us.
