Versailles terrific! - The trip was well organized. We met at the train station as described in the directions, which were excellent. The video showing how to navigate the train station was helpful. Our guide provided the tickets. The train was a short 12 minute ride to the quaint town of Versailles. We picked up the bikes there. The bikes were pretty easy to ride. They had baskets or saddle bags and had only 3 gears either in handle or with shifter operated on handle. We rode through the city using designated path or in bike lane in city. The city was somewhat busy so attention and ability to stop and start again on a bicycle was necessary. My party included one e bike due to need for extra help with pedaling uphill for age and knee problems. The e bikes are a bit heavier so be aware that if you use one you will need to be able to stop and start and have ability to hold the bike while standing. My 76 year old fellow traveler had a bit of trouble initially so we traded until she was out of the city and we were riding on paths in the park of Versailles. Overall the bike tour was lovely and the guide, Lola, who spoke perfect English and French, was patient, organized and extremely knowledgeable. We had an amazing picnic lunch after visiting the market of Versailles and purchasing our fresh fruit, sandwiches, cheese and wine. The fruit and cheese were excellent and were some of the most delicious food we had in France. The produce was all from local farmers and was fresh and tasty. The picnic was on the grass facing the palace of Versailles and the canal. The view was stunning and we had beautiful clear skies and a sunny day. The tour of the palace was educational and the palace itself is as ostentatious as you might expect from Louis XIV. We then toured Marie Antoinette’s palace and her play-land Hamlet. It was honestly the most interesting part of the tour. After that we rode back to the train station where we were guided back to the appropriate train and given tickets back to Paris that were good for the metro as well, which was a nice touch. We were back by 5:45 pm in case you want to schedule evening activities. This was a great experience. If you have trouble walking or haven’t ridden a bicycle for a while I would not recommend. My group loved it! We did tip our guide because she was so helpful and knowledgeable and really took time to make it special. I noticed that we were the only ones to do that though. I rate this tour excellent!

10/10 Would Go Again - Clara was amazing! So knowledgeable and fun. This was truly one of the best tours I’ve ever done! It’s such a unique way to see the grounds, the town, and the market, with full entry to the chateau, hamlet, and gardens.

Must do - Lola made the experience 5 out of 5. Her personality and knowledge is exactly what a tour guide should have. You can’t go to Paris without experiencing the Palace of Versailles, signup now as this will be sold out. Merci Lola

Great day out in Versailles - We had an amazing tour with our guide, Lola. She was incredibly knowledgeable and made sure everyone had a fantastic time. We visited the castle and the Queen’s Hamlet, then rode bikes through the gardens and around the town of Versailles. I especially loved exploring the local market and having some free time to enjoy lunch at a nice bistrot.

Recommend - Wonderful tour. Nice to go with guides who know their way around all the people- it was very very full inside Versailles. You get an earpiece to listen to the guide who takes you room by room and then in the gardens. You visit the market, get lunch with your family/group, then meet up an hour or so later to bike through the gardens. The tour ends with a bike ride back to the train station. Highly recommend. Great day even in the freezing temperatures!
