Perfect day! - My husband and I met Sara for the food and wine walking tour of Verona. We also brought along our one year old daughter, and as an oversight, forgot to give Sara a heads up ahead of time. However, Sara skillfully adapted our tour so that it would fit the attention span and interests of a toddler while also giving us an informative, detailed, and delicious tour. She also gave us recommendations for dinner (and made the reservation!), and told us about a town to visit during our drive back home. Her insider tips made our short weekend in Verona completely worthwhile. I highly recommend one of her tours, especially if you’re trying to fit a lot into a little bit of time. She’s flexible, knowledgeable, and fun!

Sweet hospitality and delicious dishes prepared! - My sister and I are visiting Verona and thought it would be fun to take a cooking class. We booked it and Makela greeted us and took us to her home where we enjoyed preparing three different dishes (calzone, pizza, and tiramisu). Makela was so warm and welcoming and explained so much about Italian food and it’s regional dishes. With her guidance and fresh ingredients, all three dishes were delicious and enjoyed with local wine. A very fun time spent cooking, visiting and eating! Thank you, Makela, for a very memorable day!

Pizza Cooking Class - Our cooking experience with Chef Antonio was both fun and educational. Each of us were able to create our own pizzas from start to finish. And, the best part was eating our homemade pizzas at the end of the process. Antonio was an excellent teacher. He was encouraging and made this experience fun. He told us about his Italian family, his experience in the USA and his pizza business. His wonderful assistant helped throughout and also agreed to take some photos with my camera so we would have pictures of this great experience to add to our photo book after our trip.

Cooking Neapolitan pizza in Verona - My (now) wife and I were visiting Verona with my two teenage children to get married. As we were visiting Italy for the first time I wanted to find experiences that were a little off the regular tourist track. A quick google brought me to the Pizza Cooking Class Experience offered by Romeo and Juliet Guide. After reading the positive reviews I booked a class for four. My original booking was for a Sunday however Virginia (of Romeo and Juliet Guide) informed us that the pizzeria was closed on a Sunday however the chef would happily entertain us at his house. As we wanted the full pizzeria experience we amended our dates. On the day of the class we met Virginia in the centre of Verona. She walked us to the pizzeria providing a personal insight into the city as we went. Upon arriving at the pizzeria we were introduced to the chef - Antonio - and his staff. Following introductions we were provided with an apron each and the class began. Chef Antonio originates from Naples and was very knowledgeable as to the history of cooking in Naples and what it takes to make a good Neapolitan pizza. He took us through each step from mixing the basic ingredients, kneading the dough, proving the dough and finally dressing/cooking our pizzas. It was a hands-on experience! After our morning in the kitchen we got to enjoy a lunch of the pizzas we had made along with a glass of local wine. Highly recommendable!

BOOK WITH CAUTION - I booked this Pizzeria Pizza making experience for my 11 year old son and I by clicking through on Tripadvisor. I booked it in September for 28 Oct class. Booked on the strength of the description and photo that it was in a Pizzeria. My booking form they emailed to me was not for the Chef's Cooking Experience. This is the link for Pizzeria Course I booked (which they said was impossible as not on TripAdvisor) https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/AttractionProductReview-g187871-d13797719-Verona_Cooking_Class_Italian_Pizza_Making-Verona_Province_of_Verona_Veneto.html What they sent me on was this: https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/AttractionProductReview-g187871-d13921080-Cooking_Class_experience_at_chef_s_house_in_Verona_center-Verona_Province_of_Veron.html Not what I booked and I was too polite to say anything to our host Michela as she was the nicest of ladies and the class was in her home / did not want to offend her or make her feel awkward. I also did not want my son to be disappointed as to not be having a cooking activity as we were only in Verona for 2 nights. I contacted Romeo & Juliet once we arrived home and found the Romeo & Juliet staff hugely unhelpful. This was a very expensive mistake on their part for us and I was really unhappy but they just came up with lots of excuses as to why it was not their problem. Ranging from it not being their fault that it was on Tripadvisor as Tripadvisor a separate company etc. when we all know it's just a platform and the onus is on the company to provide the information about themselves and what they offer. As you'll see it's still up there as a Pizzeria experience. I've never written a bad review before and contacted them to take it up privately with them, looking for some kind of recourse. I could go on but I think you get my point Only rating it 1 Star / terrible as it was not what I booked and customer services were dreadful. Michela the chef was lovely
