• Cantine Giacomo Montresor - Located just outside Verona’s historic center and easily accessible, this guided tour offers a unique experience at a historic winery.

The visit starts in the winery museum, where the history of Verona from the late 1800s to the present day is intertwined with the Montresor family story. Visitors will see original winemaking tools and discover how the winery has maintained its identity while adapting through significant historical events. The journey continues with an in-depth exploration of Valpolicella wines, examining how the land influences Valpolicella Classico, Ripasso, and Amarone, with grapes displayed at various stages from harvest to drying.

Next, guests can test their senses in the interactive aroma room, attempting to identify the key notes present in each wine. Passing under the historic barrel, they will enter the aging room, where wines mature in large casks and the “appassimento” process occurs, surrounded by a remarkable full-wall historical mural unique to this winery.

The experience concludes in the tasting room, where expert sommeliers lead a tasting of four wines. Depending on the selection, guests will sample either robust Valpolicella reds up to Amarone Riserva or fresh, elegant white wines from Lake Garda.

Located just beyond the historic heart of Verona and easily accessible, the Montresor winery provides an elegant wine experience that combines history, sensory exploration, and tasting.

This guided tour leads visitors through a historic cellar with strong ties to the city’s heritage, culminating in a specially selected wine tasting. Guests can select from two tasting options: Valpolicella red wines or Lake Garda white wines.

• You can reach the winery by taxi (15 minutes from Arena) or by bus taking the bus 21 or 93 from Castelvecchio Castle (opposite to the castle entrance). Parking is available at the winery.
