What to do if you are passionate about history and archaeology - Excursion to Pella and Vergina on March 13. The Pella site is ... Pele. The interest lies in the museum which is superb. Vergina (the ancient Aigai) is an absolute must. Visiting the royal mound is... mind-blowing.

Fabulous gold and funeral objects - Both the museum and the Royal tombs were stunning well worth the journey. I’ve never seen such magnificent gold and funeral objects outside of Egypt.

Fantastic Day - We had a wonderful day. Michalis was a safe driver. He was very knowledgeable on local history of Agai and Pella. We ended our day at a lovely Taverna in Pella. I would highly recommend this tour to others. The 3 of us loved our day immersed in Macedonian History..

The tour was a great... - The tour was a great contrast to being in Thessaloniki, the site of the city of Pella, while fascinating didn’t have great information but the Museum made up for it. I would recommend eating lunch at the Museum as the cafe at the Royal Tombs has a limited choice. The Royal Tombs was quite amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our day.

Well worth it. - This was an excellent place to visit. The tour guide was very good. He provided helpful perspective about the area and the history of the sites/kings. But since he was not a licensed tour guide, he was not able to enter the ticketed areas for further guidance. For this reason I rated four instead of five stars. Despite that, this was still a fair price for a very good tour.

Great tour to the Royal Tombs - Visiting the Royal Tombs Museum was absolutely a great historical visit. Our driver/ guide was very kind and knowledgeable, however, here's a few key points in the future: 1. Punctuality is important (pick up 48 min late), 2. Please don't text on your phone while driving as this was very stressful for the kids and my wife. 3. The description of the tour is misleading as we were expecting an "English guided tour" when in reality, it's a driver not a guide. Overall we enjoy our visit.

The trip that never was. - So ... I cannot comment on the trip itself as it never happened for us. We booked this trip about 20 days in advance, realized on the day that we had booked the wrong date and quickly changed it. Now that's about 3 weeks notice. Turns out that Incoming Greece did not bother to update their records, but that's not the worst part... On the day, we waited to be picked up as advertised. No one came so we asked to hotel to call them. When they did and mentioned the name of the reservation, the agency hanged up - may be worth mentioning that I messaged them through trip advisor about 40 minutes prior to that, but never received a response. We were worried as we never received any directions on what to do and/or whether there was a specific timeslot that we would be picked up other than the generic time advertised. A few minutes later, I received a generic email detailing that they had approved our refund request - we never made one. I called them myself this time and demanded an explanation. I was told that they had not updated their records and they thought that we were meant to be with them the day prior - interestingly they never called us or contacted us the day prior, which would be reasonable to expect if we did not show. I asked the person whose phone number was on the booking confirmation to provide us with the tour that we had booked. They asked me for some time to look into it. About 5 - 10 minutes later, they messaged to let me know that they could provide us with a "premium tour" at the price of 230 euros which is a lot more than what we had initially paid. I did respond and asked for the initial tour instead, a request that was declined. I decided to leave this review in hopes to warn others. There are other agencies who do this tour for cheaper prices ... if I could turn back time, I would go for one of those rather than having an early wake up and essentially wasting most of the day trying to figure out what to do instead.
