Private Venice night time walking tour with Martina - We had a wonderful walking tour with Martina, who was so funny and engaging and showed us around the city in a way that was much quieter and more personal than all of the crowded tourist spots. Getting in to St Mark’s basilica after hours as they turn on the lights to highlight the gold leaf mosaic ceiling was a special treat to cap it off!

MUST-DO private evening tour of the gems of Venice and see St. Marks like very few get to see it. Martina is incredible - THIS is the tour to take if you want a unique, special and informative tour of Venice and St. Mark’s Basilica. Martina our guide was perfect for our family as she navigated us through her city with a mix of history, local interest, and hidden gems. She wove her knowledge of the city with the wonder of its narrow streets and off-the-beaten path alleys. Her passion for the uniqueness of Venice made us feel like we wanted to know more and more. The evening culminated in a jaw dropping VIP/after hours tour of St. Mark’s Basilica including the usually closed crypts. She had a wealth of knowledge to at made an already amazing basilica come alive. We could not have been more pleased with this tour and especially Martina.

Amazing tour with Nico - Nico was amazing. His knowledge of the historical art was impeccable. No wonder because he has a degree in it. If you enjoy history and art and you want to know about Venice, he's your guide.

Evening stroll and St. Mark's After hours - Tullia was an excellent guide and was very knowledgeable about the city. She understood that we had also taken other tours and did not want to just give us all the same information again so she adapted things to our group. She was fantastic and kept us engaged during the entire tour.

Excellent! - This was an amazing tour! Nico was excellent! His knowledge and passion for Venice and its history made this tour over the top. This tour really helped us to understand the history of Venice and the importance of St. Mark’s. St. Mark’s is remarkable, and a must see. At night it is breathtaking. The tour also included walking through some beautiful Venetian neighborhoods. I highly recommend this tour and Nico as your guide

Definite “must do” in Venice! - We did the private evening stroll with Nico. Although ours didn’t include private access to St. Marks (not sure it is currently an option). Nico did a fabulous job of taking us through the “streets” of Venice from the very busy campo San Giacometto to the quieter local neighborhoods. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour started at 7:00 and we had just arrived in Venice late that afternoon so it was our first glimpse of the city. So glad we took this tour because Venice looks very different from day to night. Also, highly recommend the private tour.

What a wonderful way to see Venice and St. Mark’s Basilica! - I liked the fact that Livtours offers private tours as we have a varied group, ranging from kids to grandparents, so we don’t feel like we are holding anyone else back as we took our time. Marie was our lovely tour guide with a witty sense of humor, who shared the sites and history of Venice to our family. She kept my preteen and teen engaged by sharing unique tidbits. She had lived in Venice for a bit, so it was nice to hear her perspective of how it has changed over the years. The tour started at 7:30pm, which was a perfect time to start as it was a really hot August day and it cooled down a bit by that time. I hadn’t really read up on Venice before visiting, so appreciated learning all the little interesting facts as we went from site to site. By far the best part of this specific walking tour was being able to visit the inside of St. Mark’s Basilica at night. No need to fight any crowds - when we went there were only two other small groups, so we had a very intimate viewing. It was awesome to watch it gradually go from darkness to fully lit up. What a sight to behold - the warm hue of light on the golden mosaics covering the entire ceiling and more was amazing. Just wow, so beautiful. Definitely a worthwhile opportunity, especially if you want to appreciate the golden artwork in this normally dark church.
