- Burano - Following a pleasant half-hour boat ride through the Venetian Lagoon, the next stop is Burano Island. Visitors will have approximately 45 minutes to explore this distinctive location, renowned for its vibrant houses. Additionally, there is a chance to purchase Burano lace, a globally celebrated craft originating from Burano.
Lace-making has been a tradition in Venice since the 15th century, involving a complex weaving technique that demands a highly skilled hand with years of experience. Over time, lace-makers on the small island of Burano perfected this craft, creating a unique style known as punto Burano. This exquisite lace-making tradition continues to thrive on this island in the Venice lagoon.

Isola Torcello - After visiting Burano, the tour proceeds to Torcello Island. This breathtaking location is situated in the north-east corner of the Venetian lagoon, just 10 km from Piazza San Marco (St. Mark’s Square). Today, the island is primarily composed of vegetable gardens and is home to only a few dozen residents, although 1500 years ago it was the heart of Venetian civilization.
Torcello experienced its peak development between the 7th and 10th centuries, with a population of 20,000 due to its prosperous trade. Over the subsequent centuries, it gradually lost its significance, with major industries relocating to Venice. Only a few of the numerous monuments, such as churches and monasteries, have survived to the present day.
Torcello is not only a magnificent example of the origins of Venetian civilization; it is also an island immersed in the enchanting world of the Venetian lagoon.
