Experience Italian Spices and Food in a Venice Home - We participated in this activity with our whole family that included our three children ranging from 13 to 21. Massimo was a wonderful host and accommodated our requests, likes, or dislikes with so much grace. We felt very welcomed into his beautiful home and enjoyed the meal he prepared for us using fresh in season ingredients we picked at the market. He also put a lot of love and effort preparing some items ahead of time so that we would have the best meal experience. We highly recommend this activity if looking for cooking and tasting authentic Italian cuisine and spices.

An Exclusive, Old-Fashioned Cooking Experience - More than what we expected , this was not a cooking class; it was a private historical immersion. The day began at the market, personally sourcing fantastic spices and local ingredients. We were then welcomed into a stunning Venetian palazzo by a brilliant, charismatic host. His knowledge was astonishing, weaving the history of cuisine with the tales of Marco Polo, the spice trade, Casanova and the grand galleons that made Venice rich. Every dish became a lesson in the city's power. The focus on Old-World Flavors and forgotten spices was truly authentic. It was a practical, hands-on masterclass that showed how these exotic ingredients shaped the very foundation of Venetian taste. Grazie mille, we''ll come back again!

A Private Venetian Masterclass, rediscovering Old-World Flavors Through Spice. - This was the ultimate Venice experience. We started at the market, personally selecting the best ingredients and beautiful spices, fresh fish, and seafood. This was followed by a magnificent, private cooking session inside a truly Venetian home. Our host was the star ( Massimo). Not only charming, but an absolute encyclopedia! The class wasn't just about recipes; it was a deep dive into the "Old-World Flavors" powered by the spice trade. We learned how spices connected Venice to Marco Polo, heard tales of Casanova and Vivaldi, and understood the significance of the galleons in shaping the city's cuisine. This is a premium, hands-on masterclass for anyone who loves great food and wants to truly understand the historical heart of Venice. We play with spices, and we taste amazing focaccia, we do pasta togheter from the scratch, a kind of pasta never tasted( strozzapreti) with an amazing sauce of seafood.Highly recommended.

Venice History Unlocked: The Spice Merchant's Kitchen - This cooking class was a true journey through time and space, beginning with a fantastic tour of the market where we learned about the ancient foods of Venice. Hosted in a stunning, ancient Venetian palazzo, the atmosphere was absolutely unforgettable. The focus on the historical spices of old Venice was fascinating, bringing to life the city's rich merchant past. The instructor was an expert storyteller who made every dish feel historically significant. A highly recommended, truly magnificent and unique cultural experience!

A glimpse of local Venice with delicious food and wine - What a great day with Massimo! We walked through the market and he told us about the history of Venice. We went to his house where we made an amazing meal with the produce and spices. We enjoyed his company and the food was delicious. It was a more intimate experience than the big group tours. We got to experience more how locals live and eat. I highly recommend this tour!

Much more than a cooking class!!! - We started our adventure at 9 am at the fish market in Venice near the Realto bridge where we met Massimo, our host for the day. We spent some time wandering the open air fish and produce markets searching for ingredients for our lunch that we would be preparing. Mossimo introduced us to the wonderful array of Venetian products that were available and enlightened us with culture, history, and fun facts as we shopped. For this luncheon, he selected Prawns and a special small zucchini with flowers. After finishing up our shopping, we followed him down the winding streets to his home, where he opened a bottle of sparkling wine to get us all started. While enjoying the sparkling wine, he began to tell us the history of spices, Venice having been a crossroads for the spice trade. Each dish we would be preparing that day would include the spices which he discussed. Massimo started by preparing Focaccia “alla Nona” and then we moved into a pasta demonstration where we all assisted in making handmade pasta. Next thing we knew, we were all sitting down at a large table with multiple dishes being brought out and set before us. There were fresh salads, the Prawn and Zucchini with flowers dish, fresh sheep’s and cow’s cheeses served with homemade chutney from his grandmother and an array of other delightful dishes. Mossimo even brought out a bottle of his father’s Pino Negro from his family’s vineyard! Wow!! We were blown away by Mossimo’s hospitality, warmth, and desire to share his culture and family with us and he was the quintessential host that married culture, history, family, and fun all into a wonderful experience. If you find yourself going to Venice, book this delightful event! I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Discover the hystory of Venice through an amazing lunch! - We had the best day with Massimo. First stop market tour of Rialto market. Learning all about the cultural references in the foods , spices and produce available at the market and meeting Massimo’s favorite vendors. Then cooking with him to make a delicious Italian ancient meal at his home. We enjoyed talking with her husband, bring herbs in his garden , walking his neighborhood and then eating our meal. Can’t recommend this experience enough. Very fun and meaningful. We taste spices , try ancient perfumes andare a lot of games...ideal for a group of friends or a family.
