Highlights
  • Isola di Murano - The enchanting islands of Murano and Burano are the perfect change of pace from Venice’s crowded streets and waterways. And the perfect way to reach them is by private water taxi. Faster and sturdier than a gondola, nimbler and less crowded than a waterbus, water taxis are the premier way to travel in Venice. Few visitors get to experience them, but yours is included, along with an expert local guide who’ll explain Venice’s history as a titan of trade along the way.\n\nYour first port of call is a specially chosen glassblowing workshop on Murano. In the Middle Ages, only Murano’s artisans possessed the secrets of this craft, and sharing them was punishable by execution. You’ll get to witness modern glassblowers wield those once secret techniques, shaping delicate and dazzling works of art from molten glass. Then admire the workshop’s finest work in its gallery, and perhaps take home a piece of your own \

Soaked in Murano and Burano - Too little time to do much in Murano since the glass shop takes at least 30min to see. So many beautiful things to see. Weather was horrible they should have rescheduled the trip. Our guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. She did her best to keep us engaged. Really not enough time to sit and have a meal in Burano so just get a snack or something quick.

Picturesque and breathtaking - This was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The whole tour including boat travel lasted about five hours and was well worth the cost. Our tour guide Alessandra (Alex) was personable. She used the travel time on the boats to teach us various things about Venice. She even recommended restaurants and gelaterias. She circulated around the boat to see if anyone had questions. The Murano glass factory was interesting and the glass gallery was breathtaking. The island of Burano was peaceful and picturesque. Alex gave us plenty of free time to wander around but made sure she was accessible if we had questions. An excellent experience!

Wonderful half day trip - Murano and Burano are beautiful. The boat ride provided a different perspective from walking in the city. Francesca Gin was an outstanding tour guide, sharing her hometown from a local perspective. It was interesting, and educational.

A cool and original experience - The trip was good. Unfortunately the wheather was bad and restaurants were closed. Our guide (Elly) did her best to give us the sunny picture of the places we were visiting.

If you like colour, glass and little old ladies, this is a good place to visit - Really lovely trip to visit the glassworks in Murano and the delightful island of Burano with it's colourful houses and lovely ladies (mostly in their 80's!) still making beautifual handstitched lacework. The Murano glasswork factory was amazing and following our tour of the shop floor, watching the glasswork masters at work, we then had a tour of the museum which was just amazing. Sadly we were not allowed to take photos in the museum but can guarantee it's worth seeing. Frankie, our guide was friendly and provided a lot of historical information on both the outward and homeward boat trips. There was ample time to mooch around and take lots of photos, plus have a spot of lunch in Burano. The day was helped by the lovely sunny day, but I think it would have been equally as enjoyable whatever the weather. All in all, I felt it was really good value for money. If you add the cost of the 4 boat journeys (Ven - Murano - Burano - Ven), a tour of the glassworks and a visit to the glassworks museum (which I cannot recommend enough), I think this tour was really good value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Good experience despite the rain - The trip was a good highlights tour of the islands. There was not a lot of opportunity to explore Murano but the glass demonstration was interesting and well explained. It was a very rainy morning so exploring was less of a priority. Our guide did an excellent job walking us around Burano and explaining the culture, history and traditions. It wail have been wonderful on a day with better weather to walk the streets and take pictures. Given the rain we decided to grab lunch after the lace demonstration instead. The tour guide was easy to find with her flag next to the statue meeting point. She gave us great information about Venice and many islands in the lagoon on the chartered boat ride over. I would recommend this tour for a good overview of Murano and Burano.

Great trip to see the Islands in a few hours. - Great trip. Loved seeing both Islands. We thought the time we had on Murona was too short to really explore. Too much time at the arrival point. (Glass factory) Loved exploring Burano. Our guide Frankie was fantastic.

Can be improved - a bit disappointing. No museums , only some showrooms … not even a guided visit when landed on the islands of Murano and Burano
