The best decision of the trip! - I booked this for my 3 adult kids (ages 19-25) traveling together in Europe - and I'm so grateful I did! When telling us about their adventures, they kept coming back to this as one of the best activities of the trip! Besides being an excellent cook and providing one of the most delicious meals of their trip, their host Massimo was fun and insightful and made the entire evening one of the most enjoyable. It became more a dinner with a family friend than a "class" as they cooked and talked in his home. He even texted to find out about any allergies or preferences beforehand. I can't imagine that anyone who is old enough to cook wouldn't thoroughly enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Summary: Don't hesitate - it is more than worth it! Thank you, Massimo!

Book this immediately! - If you only do one thing in Venice, this should be it! Massimo was amazing, warm and created the best experience for everyone in my family, from ages 17 to 80! He showed us around the market and bought fresh fruit for us to try, then we went to his home where he and his friend taught us how to make fresh pasta and focaccia bread and cooked us the most amazing meal. As we sat around his beautiful antique table covered by a tablecloth his Grandmother had embroidered with candles lit and wine from his family's winery, we felt like family. We laughed, ate, talked, drank and felt at home. This is the first time I have booked a tour or experience that I would do over and over again!

Much more than a cooking class - This was more than a cooking class. From the moment we met Massimo in the market the lesson began. Food, freshness and history all at the same time. Massimo quickly figured out our choices and what to do with them, the result 2 excellent fish and pasta dishes. The pasta, homemade of course in the blink of an eye back at his place. Focaccia too. Fabulous. We thought we would be eating at the kitchen table but ta-da, Massimo swept us into a wonderful dining room where we enjoyed the amazing seafood. Next he produced salad, meat, fruit, cheeses and homemade preserves. All washed down with amazing homemade wine.Wow just wow. Throughly recommend.

Memory, not experience - Mossimo gave us our most memorable experience in Venice. We toured the market, some streets, and he provided small stops and details left off of other tours we had done. He has a unique way of making you feel like he is your cousin who you haven’t seen since you were kids. He is a lovely host who cooks some of the best food we have ever had. You sign up for the cooking and experience but you leave with a memory. Thanks Massimo.

Amazing food and company - There were many options when choosing a cooking class, but I'm so happy we chose Massimo, because my sister and I had such a great time with him. After meeting up with Massimo, we toured the market, grabbing the rest of the items we needed for lunch. He's very knowledge and told us all about the history of the area as we walked from the market to his home. Once there, we clipped some fresh herbs from his garden, then drank some bubbly while learning how to make fresh pasta, pesto, and foccacia bread. Massimo's special technique led to the most delicious foccacia we'd ever tasted. I would have eaten the whole pan if not for all of the other delicious items he served. We were stuffed after all the pasta with pesto, delicious salad with homemade dressing, prosciutto, foccacia, assortment of cheeses with family-made jams, and his family's wine. Not only was the food fabulous, but the company was amazing as well. We had such a fun time and were sad to say goodbye as we felt we made a new friend!

Excellent experience, pick this over other classes!! - Brilliant experience with Massimo, he was very accommodating to my mothers disability and started the experience where it was convenient for us to meet. He gave us a tour of the market where we decided what to cook and on the walk to his home he regaled us with some history of sites we passed. He welcomed us to his home, opened the bubbles and showed us how to make focaccia and pasta and a sauce with the sea food we'd chosen. He set his lovely table for us and when we'd eaten our pasta brought out salads, cheese and jams not forgetting the wine from his father's vineyard. We left merry and full. We highly recommend this experience with him, he was funny and engaging and a lovely addition to our trip :)

An authentic Venetian lunch - Massimo is a professional sailor but full of knowledge about italian culinary of which she shared in perfect English. The market tour gave us new valuable insight of the variety of Italian vegetables, fish and fruits. In addition many tips on how to prepare it. The following cooking class gave even more knowledge and details of the Italian kitchen and how to make pasta, gnocchi, parmigiana and tiramisu.a cooking class outside the box! we ate fresh fish bought at the market, we laughed, and among so many stories of the seven seas we became friends. what a laugh! what good wine!! what a wonderful house! the true refuge of a marianaio. If you want to know the real venice and eat well spending little this is the place! thanks Massimo!

A unique experience, we were very lucky! - Our cooking class with Massimo was the highlight of our time in Venice! It was wonderful! He took us to the market for ingredients, then we stopped for a quick drink before he welcomed us into her home. His home is lovely! It's a very warm, cozy and inviting space.A sailo's house! Massimo gave us a choice in what we cooked. He showed us how to make tortellini by hand. We also made pesto and an appetaizer with fresh prawns from the market! Then after we prepped all the food,he had set a lovely table with candles light and proceeded to serve us a beautiful meal. I would definitely take another class with Massimo again! Highly recommend.

Our favourite memories in our trip to Italy! - We were looking to get out of the tourist path and learn a bit about preparing the delicious local dishes. Massimo was fabulous and so much fun! If you want a cooking class activity in Venice, this is the one to do! I was in a small group of 4 as it happened. Our sailor/host was brilliant, knowledgeable and fun and had us all make and eat a delicious lunch (with wine). The bonus of this activity is that it starts with a look round the fantastic food market a few steps away down the street, where a deli store holder, let us taste wine and fried fish. The meeting place is an easy walk from the city centre. A thoroughly enjoyable morning, full of fun. Thank you Massimo! Amazing fettuccine with lemon and pecorino!
